I just don't understand how DVC can build a new DVC resort and not accommodate 5 people in a 1BR. They made all changes to their other resorts to do this but yet a brand new resort you can only have 4 people in a 1 BR... Obviously Im a family of 5....lol..... Is there a reason for this ????

It's smaller in the living area than the other resorts that allow it. I'm still a little surprised, but it's tight, more like the value rooms at AKV Jambo that also are limited to 4.

Probably wasn't room - WL hotel rooms were converted to DVC villas and WL hotel rooms are smaller than most of the other deluxe resorts.

In any event, it probably doesn't matter since it's a done deal - at least for the foreseeable future. Maybe a future rehab will address, but I doubt it. Don't think DVD will make any changes unless sales are very disappointing and they have enough data to blame it on villa size.

It's like the value room at AK-J, no room for the sleeper chair. Just modified hotel room(s) that were smallest of the deluxe resorts to start with.

It may also take exit capacity into consideration.

Cost to build. Why only studios at PVB, probably cost to build.

They didn't build a brand new resort, they converted an old one. I haven't seen the models in person but it looks small.

I have the same question about the 2BR only holding 8. Most hold 9.

While I'm at it, why do the cabins have 2BRs, but each room only has 1 queen bed? Seems like with all that space, at least one room could have two beds.

I took the model tour this past weekend. They were bigger than I expected. I do see why they do not sleep 5, but 4 due to the connecting door into the other villa.

On the original plans there was the alternate studios. I wish they would make those a separate booking category and have those sleep 5 or 6. They used to because they were the Junior Suites.

Be careful what you wish for. Disney hasn't revealed the layout of all the floors in Copper Creek's South Wing, so we don't know for sure how many Alternate Studios/Lock-off 2BRs there will be. My guess is there will be at least six and maybe as many as nine or eleven.

With so few Alternate Studios/Lock-off 2BRs, making it a separate booking category would result in a major booking hassle for everyone. Like trying to book the Concierge Level villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge, there would be many times when Copper Creek owners would have to walk reservations before the 11-month Home Resort booking window in order to snag an Alternate Studio/Lock-off 2BRs. The end result would likely be that more Members will be shut out from getting one of these accommodation types than being able to book one.

I personally think 5 in a studio is too many. (Personal opinion only.) And I understand the room limit for CC. But for a future location, I think DVC should make some changes. WAY back when, there was not as much demand for 5 in a studio. (I have 4 kids, so we always booked a 2BR, no other option. We only joined to book those 2BR units, since we needed 2 hotel rooms).

My proposal would be to have 1BR units that sleep 6, 1 1/2 or two full bathrooms. Something in between 1 and 2 BR, like a deluxe version of an AoA suite. Come up with some fresh ideas. Stop building the same thing, (with exception of bungalows and cabins that few can afford.) The biggest change was added a 2nd bathroom to some the 1BRs, which was a great idea, but now let's add room capacity as well.

I am fine with CC room limits, the living room area looks narrower to me than usual. We booked a 1 BR (3N) and 2 BR(4N) in October, look forward to trying it. (home resort is BCV).

Here is an official photo of the walkway from the front door through the living room in a 1BR or 2BR at CCV.

The walk way barely leaves room for the pullout couch to open in the living room area. I expect the couch will cover the entire width of the rug. Then you have to move not only the coffee table but the chair as well to open the couch. Plus the entrance to the MBR is on the left, next to the drawers. And the person taking this photo is probably standing on the balcony. I think it is pretty obvious why DVC did not add a murphy bed nor a pull out chair in this room.

In the master bedroom, there is a king bed but there was no room for a closet so they added an armoire like they did at Jambo House for the studios because many of the rooms have no closet. For CCV the MBR gets the armoire.

Here are links to the 360 viewing of the rooms:

This is exactly why I opted to NOT add on points there. We are a family of five. Husband has declared no more studio stays. Once our youngest is over two, we are limited on where we can stay without shelling out for the two bedrooms.

We have stayed in one bedrooms at Boulder Ridge and Boardwalk. With some creativity they could have reality accommodated a fifth bed. I suspect they are pushing the family of five into a two bedroom. :(

Well? Original question..... Disney chose to NOT do this.
Therefore? If it's important? Buy elsewhere. This was a marketing decision. The rooms are built. The marketing decision isn't going to change, unless Disney chooses to rip new stuff out, and replace it. Sorry if this caused issues for your family.... but that's what Disney's decision was :(.

To me the biggest question on 5 in a 1BR (or studio) is why allow it at all. To me the negatives outweigh the positives for the membership as a whole and for DVD sales.

I wish they held 5 as well. We're only a family of 4, but having separate beds for the kids is a necessity and always has been. I've shared a bed with DD13, and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy! We love the resorts that offer the sleeper chair in the one-bedroom and much prefer that to a studio, especially now that our kids are teenagers. We're splurging with points for a 2-bedroom at CC in Dec because it's only for 1 night pre-cruise, but it seems like a waste since we won't utilize the kitchen, washer, etc.

I'm with you, I'm not liking the smaller capacity. I also hate the fact that the kitchen is lengthwise, right when you walk in. Not my cup of tea.

I personally love the sleeper chair for the same reason a PP said.
My DD can sleep in the sleeper chair.
We travel as family of 4. DH, DD myself and my mom.
So Mom having the pullout to herself is priceless!
I like the 1br for privacy..... but my new fav room is Poly lake view studio.

As for CCV.... I'm very happy to be a "WLV" owner.
