I think I know what I want and then I find something else and I wonder what I'm willing to give up to add the new one but that one was the ONLY one that DH really thought was cool and I am forcing him to go to HoopDeeDoo and so I should really be fair and let him have this one but I know in the end he'll have a blast at HoopDeeDoo what with the free beer and all......

*big deep breath*

So, right now... we arrive Sat, late afternoon and we're forgoing a TS meal on Sat so we have the two TS credits for HDD.

Sunday - Teppanyaki for lunch
Monday - Cap'n Jacks for dinner
Tuesday - Mama melrose/Fantasmic for dinner
Wednesday - 1900 Park Fare for dinner
Thursday - HoopDeeDoo
Friday - Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner

BUT... I really wanted to hit Chef Mickey's, but some of the same characters will be at LTT.
BUT... DD isn't all that wild about Cinderella... she prefers Ariel, but we were hesitant to try Akershus because she's a picky eater and we didn't want to use a TS meal for a maybe on Ariel.
BUT... Our ressies for LTT are at 4:15 because that's the latest I could get because all the other smart people out there, which I presume are the ones reading this, already made ressies in the park because they know that Fri the 29th is the first MNSSHP of the season and they don't want to get booted out before the party starts.
BUT... 'Ohana looks really fun!

And there's the whole wanting to do a couple of charcter breakfasts but is breakfast worth $100 a pop (There are 4 of us and DD is the only "child")??

Oh my aching brain!!!!!!!! Does everyone go through this???

I am by no means an expert, we are taking our very first trip to wdw in May. But I thought I would share this idea with you. We have 5 children and only two are interested in the princesses. So, I'm taking them to lunch at Akershus while the rest of the family catches a counter lunch somewhere else. Then we'll all meet back up later and I'm only going to spend $60 or so on lunch for us three, instead of around $200!!

I'm also going through the restaurant thing, I've not made any ADR since the trip was a surprise and we've only had a few weeks to prepare. Since we're on a tight budget, this is what I've decided to do: Have breakfast each day in our suite and take snacks for the kids to have about every 2 hours. Eat a late counter lunch (2:00 - 3:00), then have a late dinner when we get back to our resort. I've learned so much from this board, everyone is so helpful even when I ask a question that has been asked a hundred times already!

I love you guys!!!

That is brilliant! I could take her to Akershus while DH and DS go to Teppanyaki and we'd have the princesses out of the way on the first day!! And I could open up that 1900 Park Fare for something else! Like maybe 'Ohana!

Keep em coming!!!

We're in the same situation, 1 table service credit short because DH and DS wanted the Polynesian Luau. My plan is to keep all all current ADR's but pay OOP for the least expensive one, probably 50's Prime Time. By then we'll probably be tired of desserts and appetizers with every meal anyway.

Yeah, we are paying OOP for some of our meals too. 14yodd eats like a bird, and she barely touched any of her food the last time...and that made dh and I smarter for the next time! She can eat 5.00 worth of food, and be full! Soooo, we are planning on saving HER TS meals for the rest of us!

I hate to wreck your new plan, but I would not miss Tepanyaki if I were you. We were just there in Feb and this is now my kids' favorite place to go! They have asked if we can go there every trip. And just so you know, they are 4, 5 and 9 and NOT very adventurous eaters.

I would do either LTT or Chef Mickeys. Are you staying for MNSSHP? If not, I would stay until park closing and then do CM by taking the monorail over to the Contemporary.

Well, I'll start with Teppanyaki. Grandma actually likes to take my DD to the Japanese restaurant here close to us pretty often. I'd say she's been about 4 times (which is 3 more than I have! LOL). Sadly, we do not have a "princess restaurant" close by. :confused3 Teppanyaki was really the place DH wanted to go, so with the splitting up, he still gets to go to his place and DD gets her princesses, so I think we'll stick with that plan for now.

OT: I ran that plan by DH last night and his reply was, "I'm going to do what you tell me to do when you tell me to do it." :teeth:

As for MNSSHP, I'm still undecided. I want to go, but this would have to be another split-up event, because DH would balk at the ticket price for all 4 of us and he and DS aren't into it anyhow. And I have no problem taking DD to the party myself, but we leave the next morning at 8:10, so DME will pick us up at 5, so we'll have to be getting up at 4. I'm not sure keeping my 5 yr old (that has to return to school on Monday) out til 11 or midnight and then getting her up at 4 am is a great idea. She's a pretty adaptable kid, but this one seems extreme. Thoughts?

Aha--well the Tepanyaki issue makes a lot of sense then. Splitting the meal between two restaurants does sound like your best plan. Personally I think I would skip the party as I would not be willing to pay that price (the sleep issue, not the money) to go.

And I LOVE your DHs response. I think our husbands may have been separated at birth. My DH said in response to "Where do you want to eat while we are there?" "Just don't make me eat seafood and it's all good. Tell me where to be and what time. Well, don't even tell me that, just take me along." :lmao: Oh, how I love that man!
