Why does the Unofficial Guidebook say week after Easter crowds in 2005

are going to be less crowded as the week progresses?

I had made HH reservations using our points for that week thinking that we will never go to WDW during Easter time again because the one time we did was soooo crowded!

I just bought the book for the first time the other day and have heard the raves about it, so now I'm thinking of changing my DVC ressies to OKW for the week after Easter (our Spring break) and hoping the crowds do thin out!

What do you think?

We were there from Good Friday for 10 days (after Easter 2004).
Yes, the crowds got less and less from about Wed onward (except for the weekend and except for the Waterparks).

With a little bit of planning, we had no problems.

I assume the reasoning behind it would be that Easter weekend will be very crowded, but the days following it will be less crowded each day because locals, who went for Easter, will be back at work and after Easter, the spring break crowds tend to go down. I'm sure Len can shed some more light on this.

Thanks Matt. That's essentially the explanation; As the week progresses, more folks go home.

mickeymom629, thanks for reading the Unofficial Guide. Let me know if you have any questions about the book.

Sincerely,

Len Testa

Our family of 10 arrived at WDW the day after Easter in 2004 and were pleasantly surprised at the number of people there. While it was still crowded, we expected a lot more people. We followed the suggestions and touring plans in the Unofficial Guide and had no problems (I read it cover to cover several times--I'm an obsessive planner). Several days there were larger than expected crowds at MK and they decided to keep the park open until midnight. We took advantage of that and rode rides with our 3 year old until midnight (his choice) and were up at 6:00 again the next morning for the early entry at MK to do the Dumbo or Die in a Day touring plan. I have no affiliation with the book, but I'm shamelessly plugging it because the touring plans allowed my DH, DS and I to have a wonderful time while the rest of our family ran around in incredibaly bad moods.

I'm trusting you all and I did change my ressies to OKW for 5 nights (checking in Easter Sunday), using our DVC points.

Len, I do love the book and I have been reading and sticking a Post-It's to mark pages. I have been to Disney many times and read Birnbaums every year and I have been a Disney cast member and I still enjoy learning more about Disney.

I'm going to follow the "plan" and see what happens, but I'm already happier that I'm going to be at WDW rather than HH, since that was the idea when I "invested"" anyway.

I know the crowds will be crazy, but with the planning, I hope all goes well.
:earsgirl: Thanks.
