Why does the team call a blog post "a blog"?

Just wondering if I've missed something, the DIS team continually calls a blog post "a blog" and not "a post".

No...you havent missed anything.

Our "posts" are written by different "bloggers" and we've just gotten in the habit of saying "I've written a new blog".

Hope that helps explain things.
