They are both value resorts, and I know the price is only like $10/night difference. So why do they cost different? And I'm not talking about taxes, either. Pre-taxed rooms.

the same with the All Star resorts...Movies is more expensive then Sports or Music..
and the AP rate discount at Movies and POP were lower then Music...we saved almost 350 dollars going to Music instead of Movies where we had our first reservation...
I think its supply and demand...people prefer Movies to the other two...so Movies has less discounts...same with Pop...

There is more demand for Movies, so that one is the most expensive of the AllStars. Then, there is a higher demand for POP, so Disney can charge more. At AoA? Huge demand for LM rooms, so seldom any discount to be found there, but you can get discounts on the suites.
All about 'supply/demand'!!

Pop is newer than All Stars. The rooms are bigger and there is a dedicated bus for the resort.

Same with AoA. Dedicated bus plus it's new so the rooms are slightly bigger than Pop.

We are giving Music a try for our trip next month due to the price difference.

DH said we only use the room for sleeping and the $$ can buy him alot of ice cream bars. :rotfl:

I'm not so much worried about the discount, because I'll go regardless of that.

I don't notice a price difference between any of the All Star resorts. When I type in some dates they all come up $117 each and POP at $127.

Speaking of discounts, when I went to WDW in 2004 I only spent $49/night on my room at POP.

Pop has AoA attached to it. It's just a short walk over the bridge to another food court & store. It's quite nice. A price difference of $10 nightly isn't too much to ask for that. Pop also has a beautiful path along the lake for walking. The trivia signs are fun to read. :goodvibes

I have stayed at POP several times. I love that it sits on a lake.

Yes, Pop Century is more popular than the All Stars. That's why it's more expensive.

The standard room size at all 3 All Star resorts and Pop Century is exactly the same; 260 square feet. Of course the suites at ASMu are larger.

The rack rate at all 3 All Star resorts is exactly the same. Movies is not more expensive. Most of the rooms at Movies are Preferred but they're the same price as Sports and Music. Lately the discounts at Movies has been less than Sports and Music but rack rate is the same.

Thanks guys. When I've stayed at POP it didn't seem to be that busy. I never had to wait long to check in or at the food court. And I didn't remember POP costing more in the past, that's why I was curious.

I'll probably decide to stay at POP when the time comes anyways. Unless my budget is THAT tight. I did want to try something different, but the bathrooms at ASMu & ASSp are horrible. Those vanities with that block looking design... ugh!

I do like that I can just walk across the way to AoA and get some of those meals they offer that aren't the average pizza and burgers you get at the food courts.
