Why does John McCain hate America?

Maybe he's a muslim......:confused3

there are christian faiths that abstain or prohibit the wearing of jewlery or 'adornments' as well. an example would be seventh day adventists who abstain (though very plain wedding bands are becoming more acceptable so long as no ring ceremony is done as part of the wedding) with the exception of those adornments that are part of a uniform requirement in the course of employment or military service.

But are they they "right" kind of Christian faith??

I had no idea that wearing a lapel pin was indicative of being a good American.

Incidentally, my MIL was concerned about Obama not wearing the flat pin. Sigh.

OMG-doesn't stuff like that make you want to bang your head against a tree? Someone said that they were voting for John Edwards because they liked his smile. Sure, John has a nice smile-but GEEZ-think a little!!!

Sadly, I hear al ot of comments like that. I just wonder exactly how the majority of people decided who to vote for. I'm thinking it is probably crazy stuff like this. :headache: Of course, I am one who thinks it would be crazy to say "I'm republican so I will vote strictly for my party." That just seems wrong to me... :confused3

The one thing I do like about McCain is he seems to be the only true American running for President.

What the heck is that supposed to mean? Can someone please define "true American" for me? I want to make sure I'm not failing miserably.

But are they they "right" kind of Christian faith??

as a christian it's not my place to judge how anyone else practices their faith. as a voter in a country where church and state are supposed to be separate entities, a candidate's religious beliefs so long as they will not utilize them as the basis for making governing decisions are not my concern.

Its Bush's fault. :snooty:

:lmao: :lmao: I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to type this same thing. Anytime there is something negative I figured someone would find a way to blame Bush ;)

I voted for Bill Clinton the first time (don't tell DH) cause he was cute  I refuse to let appearance fool me AGAIN. I choose to overlook McCains lack of accessories ;)

DISCLAIMER: I should read the whole thread b4 I post...I voted for Clinton when I was REALLY young :)

Noramly he does wear it but since it is considered a "poking" threat it is not allowed past TSA.

Mikeeee

that's the whole point of this-Who CARES if they wear a flag pin or not?? Why do people attach such meaning to things that are so trivial?

Who cares what church, temple or mosque-if any-a candidate goes to? As long as they are committed to defending the First Amendment, what difference does it make?

And who cares what their marriage is like? Why is it everyone's business? As long as the candidate is committed to the country and doing the best he/she can to make the country better-isn't that what really matters?

:thumbsup2 I think that may have been the intent of the OP.

He's not wearing a pin!

He's Black!

He has a strange middle name!

She's a woman!

Her husband cheated on her!

Who cares? All I care about is can they do the job?

ITA!

I just wanted to clarify because I think some people did think we were all serious.

Why does McCain hate America? He doesn't. However, I get a strong feeling that he's not all that enamored with the Republican Party. Quite frankly, I can't tell him apart from Joe Lieberman...and McCain is now the Republican Party's leader...their standard bearer? Wow, what a difference 8 years makes!! It's official...George Bush and the Roveian neocon movement strangled, killed and buried the Reagan Revolution! Long live the McCain Party!! A greener Earth, campaign finance reform, shut down Gitmo, sign the Kyoto treaty, dislikes Alito-style Supreme Court justices...hell, in his nomination speech, he even hinted at discussing when would be a reasonable time to pull out of Iraq!! The McCain Party is alive and well. What a hoot!!

My radio dial hasn't been on AM this much in a long time! The afternoon drive time is purely enjoyable with the likes of Rush and Hannity self imploding!:rotfl2:

I find it amazing that all the Conservatives here want to do is to chuckle about is the fight for the Democratic nomination, while their own party has been overtaken in a "liberal" coup d’état.

May I ask what difference it makes whether a candidate is labelled "liberal" or "conservative"? If they choose the right course of action does it matter that they are supposed to be "liberal" and this action would be considered "conservative" or vice-versa??

Really, shouldn't the actions and decisions of the President be what is important, rather than how that action is labelled??

I truly don't understand this fixation on conservative vs liberal. Who cares as long as they do the job well?

how can anything on a mickey mouse message board be construed as serious?

Let's chuck them all & vote for a true visionary...

Michael Eisner for president!

I don't think that it's the labeling that most voters are concerned with, it's the positions that the candidate takes. Calling one's platform liberal or conservative is a shorthand way to cut straight to the meat of the debate without going over each and every position ad naseum.

If this statement is indeed correct, then I feel better knowing I am not the only one. :sad2:
