Why does Jack Skellington look so wrong?

Agree. We were sort of shocked at how little he actually looked like Jack. Pretty disappointing frankly.

He does have an alien head. But the meet and greet was very good because he was very animated and could talk to us. Having a huge head wouldn’t let him interact as much has he currently does. He and Sally were worth the wait because they were so into their characters.

I also don’t care for the weird alien head he has going on. My daughter at 6 years old even noticed and asked me why Jack looks so different than the movie. I understand the mask needed to be made in a way where Jack could talk but I feel that Disney could have done a way better job with the shape of the head and the features such as eye shape and the mouth stitching. That being said she was still excited to wait in line at MNSSHP and meet him and Sally and they did a great job interacting with us.

I think he looks creepier than he should for Disney. He looks like a cross between Jack Skellington and Scream mask killer.

To be honest, I always assumed it was because he's a face character and not a fur character. He doesn't have a full mask, just a partial to keep his hair from showing. It's a whole lot better than them just painting his face like they did with Sally. For previous posters who are baffled why their line is so long and mostly adults: The Nightmare Before Christmas has a huge cult following that is one of the biggest Disney fandoms online and at conventions. It's so popular places like Hot Topic/Torrid regularly have NBC clothing and product lines.

Just because people are willing to wait doesn't mean this doesn't look really wrong. It could easily be "I really really want to see Jack and Sally because they appear only at MNSSHP", and some put up with the bad design, since the alternative is no meet and greet with Jack and Sally.

Like I said, most people don't know Jack as well as the other characters. Many may not notice how not-Jack this looks. Their not noticing doesn't make it look any better.

I'm grateful for the bad design. My four year old loves Jack and wanted to wait in a 90 minute line to meet him...til she saw his face. Then she proclaimed that she didn't want to see "Skelton Head" and we could go. Whew.

It looks awful. I'm shocked Jack is so popular at the parties. He looks like the ghoul from Scream.

I hate the Jack head. NBC is my favorite movie -- of ALL TIME, not just Disney. And I won't go see them like this. Sally looks pretty good.

And for those who say a head may be heavy. It is 2017. If they can't develop a lightweight material that doesn't cause back/neck pain for the CMs, there is a problem.

And what about having pumpkin jack meet? That would solve the neck problem and be AMAZING. Heck, even Santa Jack would be something, the beard could cover the neck. And a larger neck wouldn't bother me but there is something wrong with that alien head.
