Why does IoA close earlier than US on so many days?

When I was there a few weeks ago, IoA closed an hour earlier than US. I was just looking at the calendar for the days I plan to go back in May, and IoA closes 2 hours earlier than US on both dates. What exactly are the logistics behind this? It's frustrating if we want to make water rides the last rides we hit for the day but can't do so because we get "kicked out" of the park that has the water rides early.

guessing lower attendance in the parks, eateries, shops in january?

More people want to see the new Diagon Alley addition, so they're going to keep the newer park open later.

People tend to want to ride the water rides when it is the warmest part of the day.

It surely helps with crowd control. 2 parks closing at same time means longer wait to get out of parking lot.

That's a fair point about the parking lot. I avoid the parking lot like the plague and search for hotels that offer shuttles because all of the traffic congestion propels me into a major panic attack.

Apparently the parks both stay open until 9 the following week, so we might push our trip back.
