Why does Hollywood close at 4:00 on 11/20?

That's a bummer...we are now going to leave that morning vs afternoon and I was thinking we could go see Fantasmic or wishes that night...but both parks close early? Why? I know MK is because of the party...but they have a party on Friday night also.....so my only option for evening entertainment that evening is Epcot :-( Any suggestions?

I believe November 20th is the WDW Cast Recognition party and traditionally, it is held at DHS.

The Boardwalk for dinner and entertainment. AKL for dinner and to explore the resort. Celebration has good restaurants and should be decorated for Christmas. It also snows there in the evenings. Ice at Gaylord Palms resort begins this weekend.

Smaller park? Lots of convention groups book DHS for private parties because of the much lower cost compared to MK.

It isn't always DHS. But, when they close MK, it may be a bit later in the evening.

BTW, DHS is larger than MK.
But, MK is the "signature park" and more popular than DHS, so it causes fewer problems to close DHS earlier.

MK is actually the smallest park at WDW and Animal
Kingdom is the largest (5 TIMES larger than MK!)

I'll just list in approx. round numbers.

MK = 100+ Acres.
DHS = 135+ Acres.
Epcot = 300+ Acres.
DAK = 500+ Acres.

The acreage is not necessarily directly related to guest-areas, of course.
But in the case of MK vs. Studios, I think that they may be roughly comparable, percentage-wise, to the guest-area vs. backstage areas.
