My husband works long shifts, and without fail if anything wrong happens, it happens when he is at work..

Today I went to do groceries, got hit from behind :headache: . Had both kids, but thankfully it was nothing more than that, but I had to get a tow, could not find my credit card (finally did), and had to taxi back home with groceries and kids..

Cook supper, stove goes out. Have to order out in a rush (due to above)

Tonight. Football practice in the pouring rain. Son gets hurt, they think it is a broken collarbone (again). Rush to ER with 2 kids sopping wet, and one in significant pain. :sad2: THANK GOD there is no fracture, but he did tear some ligaments and is in pain. First game is this weekend, so hopefully he is better for that. I am just thankfully he has no breaks.

Just wanted to vent about how things go wrong when A I am the only parent, and B, I have no car :upsidedow

sounds like you need a car and a man:banana: The car is the easy part:rotfl: Men..eh?? What are ya going to do??? Never around when ya need them:rotfl:

Everything bad happens in my house when hubby isn't around, too.

Murphey's Law. ;)

ETA: a hug for your DS... :grouphug:

Thank You. Two years ago he broke his collarbone 5 days before the season. I felt awful. They practice 5 months for 10 games, and he missed the first 6 games. He did recover well, but was afraid for the rest of the season..

Coach has called 2x already tonight to see how he is, and if he need a new QB for Saturday...

 I think you need to lock yourself and the kids in the house, wrap everyone in bubble wrap and just lie low for the rest of the week!

But that is just how it goes, I swear. My best friend had her car almost catch fire 2 hours after her husband left to go start a new job across the state. She called me in a panic and crying because she had no idea what to do. We went and got her and the kids and DH fixed her car.

I find that all the spiders and ther creepy crawlies seem to show up when DH is gone. And I did start having Braxton Hicks contractions very bad the ONLY night during my entire 2nd pregnancy that he was gone.

WOW, you had a class "A" rotten day. Here's some pixie dust pixiedust: and a hug  . I hope tomorrow is better for you.

It is good to know that he has a coach that cares. But DS is okay to play Sat right?

Let us know how the game goes. I love childrens sports! I wish they would show more of that on TV.

 How scary all the way around! Hope DS feels better and glad that no one was hurt in the wreck!

BTDT.

It does always seem to happen that way doesnt it?

My kids always save getting sick for when daddy is out of town.

Oh they are wonderful, they really are. They made sure he attended all the games anyway, he was behind the bench in his figure 8 strap, but had his jersey on. He supported them all the way....They came over, brought him goodies, and spent time with him. They felt awful, and it really felt good to see the team act as one.

DH helps coach, but tonight could not be there. I don't know about Saturday, I really don't. He just moved up to Pee Wee, and it is MUCH more physical. Practice is tomorrow night, so we will see day by day. Contract signing is tomorrow and weigh in.

I love the games too. I am always nervous, but am rooting them on like a nutball!!!

Thanks for all the hugs everyone!!! My son who is almost 13, and normally full of that lovely pre-teen tude, is almost teary eyed. Perhaps it is the pain killer, but I think it is the hugs. :teeth:

I have a unique variation on the theme, which I am sure happens for the very same reason. My son only gets sick enough to need to be taken out of school on days when I am the only doctor working. Invariably. We have six doctors in the practice, and the last time he got sick with the flu (Feb 07), three of the doctors were on vacation, one had his normal day off, and the last one was taking a "mental health" day, so to speak. My son got sick on Monday, and by Friday, I was needing a mental health day. I didn't miss a single day of work, but, my son, unfortunately, needed to spend the week convalescing in the office. What can I say? Somebody needed to work. Oh yeah, my husband wasn't able to stay home that particular week due to his work demands, either.

What a rotten day! More hugs for your son, and I hope tomorrow is better.

It always seems to happen when they are gone! I am an Army wife, and most of us will tell you everything seems to break when they are deployed!

:goodvibes OP, I feel your pain. DH is a :firefight and it never fails that when he's on a 48 hour shift, something goes wrong. Last time it was the basement flooding but I've also had flat tires, DD shattering her arm, our middle DD had a seizure, the neighbor kids broke our bedroom bay window...............the list is endless.

ITA. I'm a National Guard wife, and it's like a magnet when he goes to AT or drill.

OP. Wine. Large glass. Now.

 Poor thing!! It seems like I will have one of those kinds of days every once in a while. Where the bad things just keep getting worse. I know how you feel. I hope you have a better day tomorrow!
