Ok, first off, I love Disney, would love to live closer to FL so I could visit the parks on a regular basis. However one thing bothers me, being the huge character lover that I am, ad adult too. :teeth: Why does Disney have all these WONDERFUL costumes and just doesn't bother to put the characters out in the parks?? I don't get it. I have heard people say that it has to do with workers, etc. However when you visit each park at Disney, you always see, Donald, Goofy, Mickey.Minnie, and Chip&Dale, and while I love all these characters, they all have set locations pretty much at MK, so I think instead of putting them around at every park, they should put some of the older, more rare characters out, and make us character lovers happy. Just my thoughts, just curious as to how the rest of you feel. Come on Disney, we love you, now give us more rare characters!!! :) :cool1:

I've never had any problems seeing even the most rare of characters. I'm not sure there's a Disney character dreamed up that I've not seen somewhere in one of the parks.

I think the problem is they get mobbed and disappoint the ones that get left in line and so forth .When it's hot out they can only tolorate those costums for so long before they start to dehydrate.

This is why I think they are moving towards the meet & greet areas. It's easier to swap and get new ones in in a timely fashion.

And rare characters wouldn't be rare if they were out all the time.

I think that having all of the characters available a lot of the time would take some of the magic out of it. Even as an adult, it will make me smile to see a character that isn't one that is "out and about" a lot.

I was in DL last year and there was a huge line for the incredibles. Standing acroos the street by himself is frozone. I have a great pic with him sometimes it pays off to look around. But the point is why put out a character that no one wants pics with. Disney job is to serve the masses and especially little ones.

First of all, they only have so many employees with different shifts each. The employees get their work schedules and they are either assigned a role or are selected as "spares" in case one of the assigned employees call in sick or have to leave during the day due to becoming ill. If they have enough spares lined up, they then can place the rare characters on set, however, this becomes a chore also since they are assigned by height.....

Just this past May we saw many characters out and about. Here is a list of the ones we did meet and greet with.
Chip
Dale
Pinochio
Gepetto
Goofy
Max
Pluto
Mickey
Minnie
Donald
Winnie the Pooh
Tigger
Eyore
Piglet
Sully
Mike
Lilo
Stich
Kim Possible
Ron Stopable
Chicken Little
Abby Mallard
Princess Aurora
Mary Poppins
Belle
Beast
Buzz Lightyear
Woody
Jessie
Green Army Guy
Add to this list at least 20 other characters that we saw but did not meet and I would say that is a pretty fair selection to choose from. By the way we did not see all these characters at the MK, they were spread out over all 4 parks.

Wow, if you have had a chance to meet that many characters you should really start a web page of some sort!! :)

I feel like I am being yelled at with this post, I wasn't really saying anything negative, just would like to see more rare characters out and about, I mainly started the post for character lovers so we could talk about different characters we have seen, I didn't really want to start anything.

I don't think anyone that posted already was hollering or arguing with you, I just stated how they send out the rare characters and the reason we don't often get to see many of them! I personally would love to see lots of the older, rarely seen characters!
