Why does BWV often seem to be the cheapest?

Why do Boardwalk Villa rooms often seem to be much less expensive than others?

Is there a negative to these rooms?

Thanks!

The rooms are virtually identical to BCV although it's a larger resort.

OKW was the original Disney Vacation Club and Disney was guessing at what point requirements would work out. It was done too low really. That was followed by HHI and VB offsite and then next onsite was BWV and they increased the points a little bit from OKW but not much. Slowly they've been increasing and increasing looking for that upper limit.

I guess what way are you referring them to be the cheapest? It does also have a standard view which is really a steal but Boardwalk view and Pool/Garden view are also virtually identical to BCV and a few other resorts.

Keep in mind that those lower points rooms are pretty much booked by Bwv owners. During the busy months of October, November and December most of us Bwv owners even get shut out. I purchased at Bwv just to book the standard rooms, but I also booked BLT to book standard there too.

The only down side, and it's not all that bad, is parking. If you don't have a car it's no problem. The longer halls and limited elevators are a bit of a pain, but if you can't walk the halls, how will you get around the parks. To me it's not a negative.

Just left the 3135 and it was a very long walk. If walking is a problem, I do rent a scooter!

Another BWV owner here-standard studios are a steal but hard to come by for a renter or non BWV owner in the fall-we always book ours at exactly 11 months-the standards are gone within minutes of 8 am

For whatever reason I am so amused by the long, never ending hallways at BWV. Nor do I find the parking as awful as many seem to. Guess it means I just like the place!

I stayed in a BW studio [BW view] in early December. I was in room 5007 - almost one of the very last rooms [close to JellyRolls]. When the CM told me the area I was in [not room# as it wasn't ready yet], I was very disappointed and tried to see if I could get something closer to the elevator - no go. Boy, was I ever glad it didn't happen. It was the absolute best view of the Boardwalk I have ever had. One night, I timed myself from when I got off the elevator and got right to my room - exactly 1 minute and 45 seconds. Now I do tend to walk at a pretty decent clip, but honestly - that is no big deal.

Are you able to hear any of the music from Jelly Rolls while in the room?

See that bit of black at the end of the hall? That's my DH posing for me. :rotfl2: And this wasn't the only hall we had more to go!

Not at all, but I was concerned about it when I saw where the room was located as I am sensitive to noise and use a white machine to sleep at night. It was a very lovely and quiet location; much quieter than the room on the top floor by the basketball game on the Boardwalk. I seem to get put there alot. :crazy2:

Have you ever gotten stuck in one of the rooms at the far end of Kidani? Now that's a hike!! :)

I just got a standard view one bedroom for early June. We've never stayed at Boardwalk and I'm very excited about finally getting in! We own at AKL Kidani. Where should I suggest when time comes to check in?

Not much of a choice to request. I generally choose higher floor. Standard faces the driveway & parking lots. The trees are getting tall so you pretty much have obstructed view unless you go higher. There is only one bank of elevators for the resort so folks do ask for that, but in standard close to elevators = looking down on the resort checkin desk and luggage trucks coming and going.

It's a very specific request with low probability of success, but you should see if you can snag room 2123, 3123, or 4123. They are extra-large 1BR SV corner rooms with large, wrap-around patios overlooking the bus stop. We requested these in advance and actually got one of them on 2 different occasions, but clearly YMMV.
