Why doe Biden keep talking to the Moderator

Sorry, I can't see this at all. What question HAS she really answered without resorting to the same-old, same-old. Besides, she SAID she wasn't going to answer anything she didn't want to--she said she would just answer something else. Huh? That's not debating.

But Biden isn't really doing a lot better, if any.

Lame debate.

Yes, I wish we could have heard more specifics. I am not sure if it was the questions, the moderator, the lack of follow-up. I just didn't find it too informative or cerebral. (Although I did like JB's answer about Cheney and his intrusion into the legislative branch.)

I wish I could find my party's first Republican candidate worthy. She just seems like comedic fodder, a beauty queen with a plethora of rehearsed responses. It would make a great Disney film...an average, largely uninformed, ignorant but pretty small town (state) "gal", who gets plucked up for the chance of a lifetime. "Doggone it! I just want to keep workin' for yuh!" The movie would show her lack of knowledge and gaffes with comedic flair, and of course filled with her one line zingers and winks...It would be a great movie. Think: Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality, only in reverse.

Sadly, this is not a movie, it's our country, our lives.

I hated Palin looking at the camera. It was obvious from the get go (and she even SAID this in the debate) that she was going to ignore the moderator and answer questions her own way...or talk about what she wanted to talk about.

Step 1: HEar question..

Step 2: Whip out canned answer prepped by campaign

Step 3: Look doe eyed into the camera, give a little sass and sell said line to the American public.

Step 4: Don't actually answer the question.

I liked that JOe spoke to the moderator AND the camera and to Palin on occassion.

Performance is the key word. She learned her lines and spit them out. She had no facts, heck Biden is more aware of where McCain stands, than she does, on some issues. But you are correct, she deserves praise for not being the total train wreck that was projected..............by both parties. Energy, maverick, energy, maverick.............*yawn* But just because she didn't blow it as bad as projected, doesn't mean she did well either.

Sarah Palin did a great job last night. I was refrehing to see someone interested in the American people and speaking directly to them. After all, it is us, not the other opposing candidate, that these folks will be representing.

The greatest laugh moment for me was a comment by Biden towards the end of the debate. He informed everyone that he had been around for 26 years and he was never going to change. What!!??! Isn't his party running on a 'change' theme?

Wow! You found her refreshing too? Well, I found out on another thread that that says a lot about us. I've asked what it does say about me (us) when we say we find her refreshing so we may learn something more about ourselves. Interesting.

Well, when one writes a book about "good ole Black politics" it's probably a good idea to include Obama, as he's done something that no other Black person has. But, yeah, how could she be a good moderator and push her political and racial pride out of the way to ask generic questions to a candidate that choses not to even answer them?
