Just wondering.....I thought this would be fun. What makes Disney magical/special especailly for you (and your family)? What are your reasons for loving it?

Here's a few of mine.....

1. I love the magical feeling of watching the fireworks at MK at night. Especailly the Wishes show. I have seen many fireworks shows but Wishes surpasses them all. For a few moments you feel like everything is right in the world and you dont want it to end.

2. I love our tradition of getting ice cream on Main Street.

3. I love kicking back and having a few relaxing moments while riding the Tommorrowland Transportation Authority at MK. I have taken a rest, stole kisses from DH, and nursed our baby as an infant on that ride (not all on the same trip LOL!) It's a relaxing, semi-private (for some reason we usually end up with a car all to ourselves) way to get away from the hustle and bustle for just a few minutes.

4. I love Downtown Disney at night. The lights, the atmosphere, everything.

5. I love meeting the characters. I'm 25 years old and still love it! And now I love seeing my two year old's face when she recognizes a familiar character.

Well, although listing them all will take forever, here are a few:

Main Street - Just stepping onto Main Street in MK takes my breath away. We just returned from a Magical Gathering and when my dd5, dn4 and my cousins 4 and 2 were in front of the castle for pictures, I lost it! It is to me what make the trip special.

Characters - Whether it is me or dd getting the autograph, I am still in awe of the characters! It is the coolest thing.

Monorail - We have never stayed in a deluxe resort, but I try to book and ADR at one of those hotels so that w can ride the Monorail. To me, no Disney trip is complete without at least one trip on the Monorail!

Well this might be a little sad, but my dad died the year I turned 17, and his only thing he ever wanted to do was to take my family to disney for a Real Vacation every year, and every year we ended up only being able to afford a week at the jersey shore..................but the summer b4 he died, he managed to take us to disney for the week (1976) We had the best vacation ever, of course back then it looked so large, and there was only one park (MK) But I remember how fascinated I was! Our kids r so spoiled now adays, they expect this every year.................Although I do love going with my kids on the rides and attractions.....its nice to re-live my childhood thru their eyes!

#1 Only been once, but standing at the end of Main Street on a beautiful sunny day, blue sky cheerful music all around....and looking over at my DD and seeing the look of absolute joy, awe and amazement on her face when she 1st sighted the castle. It was a priceless moment that I will never forget and I look forward to seeing agfain when my DD 3 takes her 1st trip this June.

#2 The level of clenliness and gentility of WDW. Yes, there are rude people, people wearing inapproriately tight or revealing clothes, teenager with attitudes, but I know that if somone SHOULD get out of line they will be removed from the park. Something that I can not say for Panama City Beach in Florida no matter how much I love it. WDW is a fairly sheltered, family oriented place.

#3 It offers such a variety or attractions, shops. food, things to see that there is something for everyone. Even my DH, who doesn't love WDW, but loves Disney Quest. (And Pochahontas and Arial in her "shells")

#4 What's not to love about a place where you make such wonderful memories?

What a great question.

I think my BIGGEST reason for loving WDW so much is that my husband and I fell in love there. It makes it seem like our "special' place every time we go back.

The magic never dies- no matter how many times you go there you still get that feeling of complete and utter amazement / excitement / awe when you walk through the turnstyle and look down Main Street.

There's something for everyone and they take everything into consideration such as handicaps, special dining requirements, etc...

They are constantly trying to make things better which means the experience is always a wonderful one!

This was my very 1st "grown up & all alone" vacation. I took my now 13 year old 10 years ago and was scard out of my wits that I left my familiar nut shell of DE, jumped on an Amtrak train heading south. When I 1st arrived into MK and saw the castle as a cake, I cried like I was the 3 year old. I cried when I saw mickey and when my DD hugged him, I cried at the parades and the chracters. I was in a real wonderland for the 1st time ever. Nothing like the little carnivals I grown up going to. It is my sanity away from my daily insanity. I am in love with WDW :goodvibes

Why? The whole pure "Magical" and happy  atmosphere in the theme park.

This will be very unsentamental.

We like to vacation at Disney because its EASY. We know there will be things for the whole family to enjoy doing. We know that the quality will be decent.

It truely is the GREAT ESCAPE into the land of MAGIC.

No matter how many times you go it's never the same but you can relive the same memories.

1. Standing at the entrance of main street........astounding.

2. Fireworks at the castle........breath taking.

3. The music during the parades.

4. The WHOLE DISNEY TRIP........to much to list!!!!! party:

Bottom line - quality time with the wife and kids. Just watching them have a great time is pure joy!

I agree that there are too many to list-but the top three reasons:

3. TTA-Love to just relax on that ride. I look forward to it every time. :thumbsup2

2. I'm a better person in Disney. ;) I rarely get stressed out in Disney, which makes me a better Mom and Wife.

1. Spending every minute with my family. No school, no work, nothing. Just being with them. Love it.

When I was a kid, we lived in Orlando. We went to MK twice when we lived there...and going to Disney brings back my happy memories from childhood because it is in a familiar place to me.

I also love Disney because it's something we can do as a family. My teen and preteen aren't uppity kids who are old before their time. They love Disney, and have as much fun as we do planning a trip! I love that when I sit down at the Dis boards to plan, my kiddos and dh are generally over my shoulder with me! Bonding time! :thumbsup2

I also love Disney because it's an all-inclusive trip for us. No staying off-site for us! uh-uh! We love that we get to Disney...and we don't live in the real world anymore!! :wizard: Who wants to deal with traffic, and parking, and fixing meals in a hotel room??? NOT ME!!

I am sure there are 100 more reasons why...but this will do! :woohoo:

I love so many of the magical things at Disney, but aside from that, I love how clean it as, as well as how caring the CM's are. I find that any other park that we go to will never be able to compare or live up to the high standards set by disney. We just went to Sesame Place today, which is just 5 minutes from my house. I didn't see any employee over the age of 21 within the park, and most had a miserable look on their face. You would never see that at Disney. It is also a great deal, compared to the cost of a week at the Jersey shore.

I love that "magical" feeling I get when we're at Disney. It's like being in a whole new universe. There's none of the problems from your everyday life. It's like an escape from the real world, if only for a short time. I love the looks on my children's faces when they hug a character or watch a parade - its priceless! I just love being there!

HEY!!!! That's just how I feel - the total escape from the real world. Pixie dust falling from the sky from the time you get there until the minute you leave. When we're there, I'm having a wonderful time; my son is having a wonderful time (which makes me even happier) - The saying " I'm so happy I could just burst" - that's us to a T.
:jumping1:

ye there are loadsa reasons but heres a few:

1. i love the atmosphere its so friendly and well magical
2. i h8 big rides but i'll do all the ones in disney coz it makes me feel safe
3. i love forcing my nan on rides she doesn't like
4 i'd be dead if i couldn't go and i have 2 wait a year n 3 mnths till we go again

Every single moment is special, from the way you are treated when making your initial reservations until checkout. Here are some of my favorites:

1.- You can check in at 2:00a.m., and the CM is as kind and courteous as if it were regular business hours.
2.- The quality and value for your dollar. No other vacation destination compares,
3.- Walking into the MK and approaching main street. The music, the aroma, the sight as the castle comes into view.
4.- Walking in to Epcot. The music swells as you approach the entrance.
5.- Family time. Nowhere else in the world can you go and relax and enjoy your family without worry. Everyone is more congenial, and the children (and myself) don't even think about anything but the magic.

Since I didnt have a childhood I'm able to have one now and enjoy all the stuff I wished I could have done while little.
Now this magical placed has really healed my child side.
I enjoy having fun and watching others having fun.
I love the sounds and sights of Disney.
parades, music, food and rides. what more can I ask for, if I can dream it disney will make it.
The atmosphere is pure love.

I love:

-how the CMs are so friendly and helpful
-how great the characters are with the children
-how the costumes are so well done that they don't look like guys in suits
-how everything is spotless, right down to the garbage bins
-how the Welcome Show is the perfect start to our vacation and Wishes the perfect end
-that Soarin' is like nothing else on the face of this earth
-that watching Fantasmic! makes me wonder how someone could dream all of that up
-how everyone looks apprehensive at the start of Kali River Rapids but everyone is laughing like crazy by the end
-that dh and I have as much fun on the rides as the kids
-watching my kids fall in love with a place and characters I loved when I was little
-most of all, my daughter has loved Princess Aurora for 3 years and meeting her was a dream come true. It was a moment I will remember for the rest of my life.
