Why do you keep coming back to Disney?

Total escape from everyday life - don't even turn the TV to non-WDW channel. Always have a good feeling when I'm there - everything is fun and magical. Even waiting in line or for a parade turns into an oppurtunity to make new friends with cast members and fellow riders alike. It's an attitude that you just can't recapture or truly express anywhere else.
I'm a true believer :)

my sentiments, exactly.

also, i think it's the best bang for the vacation $ out there.

I agree with everything said above. I'll also add that one of things i really enjoy is doing everything together. We tend to go in so many different directions in our everyday life, it is great to do everything together when we are there. Some of the best times with my 2 children have been at WDW. My children are now 22 and 16 and we have been going for 11 years. The 22 yo and his fiance went with us this past June and had a fabulous time.

I look forward to more memories even when it is just DW and me going.

With everyone dealing with economic hardships,
I was wondering what keeps you going to Disney,
and what could Disney do to spread a little magic
during these tough times?

The quality of the product & the quality of the service keeps us going back.

It's a Magical place to be! When I step in the Magic Kingdom all of my problems disappear. My DH does not share my obsession so our trip in June will be without him. DS(12) and I are taking my parents and it will be their 1st trip to Disney.

I think it is expensive to go but well worth it. My DS 1st trip was when he was 4 yo and I still look at those pictures all of the time. I can't wait to take pictures of my grandkids there one day.

For us there is something special about being there. :earsboy:

Watching the Wonderful World of Disney growing up, but never actually getting to visit Cinderella's castle, I always thought a trip to Disney World was some fairy tale that I could never achieve. But one day my frugal husband came home from work with an ingenious way of visiting Disney for a real bargain. So my fairy tale fantasy came true, thanks to my Prince who, incidentally, has never been impressed with amusement parks, but walked away from that first trip believing Disney was worth every penny spent and more. Each visit has provided us with more "magic." All five of us, of varying ages and interests, are in sync when at Disney World, enjoying all of the same things. I blink a couple of times and the kids are older--can't believe they're teenagers now! I'll grab every moment of Disney magic I can now, storing it up for later when everyone grows up and goes their separate ways. And, hopefully, returning someday with grandchildren to introduce to the magic!!

No place on earth makes me feel at happy as visiting Disney. As a child my parents could never afford to take us anywhere so for me it is like being a child all over again. Our trip this year was unexpected this year, but could not pass up the awesome military offer.

I'll start...
We keep coming back to take a break from reality
and enjoy special times with family and friends.

I'd love to see Disney take a break on ticket price increases
for a couple of years!

Who's next?

We continue to choose Disney as our only vacation destination because where else to you find people who really understand customer service? Where else do you find a place you can really be a kid again? Where else do they keep the whole illusion alive while you visit each park, stay in their hotels or eat at their restaurants?

I would like to see Disney maybe offer their percentage discounts to include park passes AND rooms.

Because it is the only place that can turn my heart back into a child's heart, and I feel like my whole body is smiling!!!!

The first time I went to WDW was in the early 70s. . .I was 5. Every 4 or 5 years after, our family would do a Disney World vacation. I took my husband on his first trip in 2001-----and now he is playing 'catch-up' on the what he never got to do. He and I have gone six times now (this March will make 7)-----he can't get his fill---and neither can I. We aren't ones to sit back and relax on vacation----we want to be on the go and have our days filled every minute of the day. . . WDW is the answer. Despite rising costs everywhere, I just don't flinch when it comes to booking a Disney trip----it is worth every cent!!!! I have memories from when I was very small. . .and I'm STILL making Disney memories, today. . . WDW has my heart. :tink:

Because it is a good wholesome family vacation. For the most part attractions can be experienced as a family. Resturants are kid friendly, if not catering to kids. And we feel safe there...if one of he kids were to wander off, I am confident they would be found...don't know why, just do!

And even with price increases it is one on the best bangs for the buck!

I never got to see Disney as a kid. I went my first time when I was 43. I didn't expect to be blown away or anything. From the moment I got on the Magical Express bus I was mesmerized by it all. It was like I was 10 years old again. There is most definitely something magical that warms the heart. Nothing can even come close to the Disney experience.:thumbsup2

Disney gives us a wonderful family vacation. It truly is a place where we can forget the real world and get swept up in the magic. Disney is full of magic and happiness and dreams and I feel "home" when I am there. Add in exceptional CMs and you have one great vacation!

I've been thinking about this very same question. My 21 year old who joined me on the last two trips is busy with college and internships, so if I want to go again, I'm solo. Honestly, I don't think it's that much more expensive than any other vacation. I spent almost as much last summer on 4 days in Canton to see two beloved Redskins inducted into the Hall of Fame, and I would spend almost the same amount for a week at the beach.

What do I love about Disney World? It's a combination of the shows and the great "middle-sized" rides. I'm just not into thrill-seeking unless there's a good story involved, so DW fits me perfectly! It's fun to explore other types of foods that we don't eat at home, and finally, I love to watch people discover the magic. That's the answer I came up with!

:surfweb:

As type A and Monkish as I am, it is the one place where I can actually relax.
I have a good time, and I am happy. I am in no hurry and enjoy it all.

And in 11 days, going on my first solo trip. :goodvibes

I have always loved Disney. My mom had Disney things in my nursery and my 1st toy was a stuffed Donald Duck! (thanks Mom and Dad:thumbsup2 ). We made numerous trips when I was growing up and then I had about a 10 year "break" (college, grad school, getting married, starting a family). I was so ready when I was finally able to return.

Since '98, DH and I have managed several trips with our children. Last year our oldest DS was killed in a car accident. Those memories are very precious now. I have NEVER wished I had spent that money on something else (or even saved it) because when it gets right down to it there really are some things that money can't buy (like just one more minute with a loved one).

I will never jeopardize my family's security for trips or frivolous things...but I do make every effort by curbing my spending on lots of non-essential things throughout the year so that we can always have a nice family vacation. It hasn't always been Disney...some years we could only afford a few nights at the beach or a cabin somewhere relatively close...but we are together and we enjoy every moment.

Two words..."I'm hooked!"

I've went on other vacations that have been nice to say "yes, I've been there. It was nice, we had a great time". But the most magical special family vacation we could ever spend together is at WDW. Not only being there together, but doing the planning and counting down together make it that much more special!

Because it's where this 32yr old can act whatever age she wants, wear fairy wings if she chooses, meets royalty, eating Mickey ice cream bars and closing her eyes in front of a castle and believing my wish will come true while fireworks explode over her head.

T.
