why do you go to WDW & how many is to many ?

It is my " home away from home" I know hat everyone means about the"looks", WHY DON't YOU TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE???????!!!!! There's more than Disney....well I am sorry but there really is something for everyone!!!!My husband who gripes about the money spent and how Crazy it is, turns into a different person when we go to Disney! He loves it every bit as much as I do, and prob more than me and the kids! It is expensive, but your right, people spend money on what they value, sports, clothes, cars, smoking, drinking, eating out and the list goes onand on!!! I think that life is too short to care! I have been twice in the past year and we are returning May 2006, AND September 2006. We bought AP's for the whole family (6 of us) all we have to do is think about ressies. We could potentially go again early 2007, and utilize the passes 3 times in one year! I don't apologize for loving Disney! I think it is the best choice vacation for little ones and LITTLE ONES AT HEART!!! It really is a magical place! I would be sooooo bored sitting on a beach!!! I think those vacations are for people who....nevermind I don't want to offend!
Bottom line is, if you do it right you don't spend tooooo much and if your not afarid of a little extra ot, and saving , and being in a "little " debt from time to time then so be it !!!!!! I choose Disney! I can hardly WAIT to go back I can hear the sounds and smell all those wonderful smells right now ,,,,sighhhhh ahhhhhh!!!! There's no place on the planet like it. I think I am hypnotized by the mouse!!! pixiedust: :worship:

For all the reasons you guys have already mentioned....I have had 12 trips in total with three in the last year and 3 planned for this year but my goal is 5.

For the people who ask why go back I ask them why do you go to a caribbean resort every year...to me they are all the same and a week sitting on the beach would bore me to tears. For this reason my second vacation choice is a cruise, enough activity to keep my attention.

The main reason I go back is because ds is special needs and he is as comfortable at wdw as he is in our own neighborhood (maybe even more so). He knows exactly what to expect and disney treats him like a king!!!

Between my AP and its discounts, cheap flights with SWA and all of my cool tricks for cheap eats...it actually is a more affordable vacation for us than most others would be. ALso starting this year I have been able to book my rooms at TA discounts...I plan on trying a lot of resorts this year!!!

For us it is the smell of walking through the doors at AKL. That is the defining moment for me when I take a deep breath and feel myself relax. I feel like most of my life is spent taking care of my kid, my husband, my students, but when I'm there, it's time for me! I love having food prepared and splurging on character meals. :thumbsup2

Of course there are lots of other cool memories like watching Gabe do the napkin dance, seeing Gabe swim for the first time in that pool at AKL...eating at Boma, watching him eat a Micky Mouse ice cream, coming back to a clean room, riding the bus to the parks, doing the Buzz Lightyear ride for teh 20th time...

I can't wait until we can make those memories with our daugther too! My family and friends all think I'm crazy, but they just don't get it. I love Disneyworld! :)

The only way to get over Disney withdrawl  is to plan another trip there. I figure it's cheaper to go on another trip than pay a shrink for Disney post-depression ! :lmao:

I took my kids for the first time in 2004 and that was the first time I went. I'm in my 30's. My parents could never afford to take us as a kid, so instead we always went camping around Ontario. I have cherished memories of those times and now my kids have ones of WDW. The feeling I got when I entered MK for the first time and saw the castle ahead of me, I was as excited as my kids and husband. I'll never forget it and my kids won't either. We went again last year and we saw the same stuff and the kids never once said "We did this last year"!!!!!!!! I don't think you could ever get bored there or with the feeling. We love going and if we weren't moving this year, we'd be going this year too. Florida were going to and staying with the inlaws to save $ but hopefully next Feb.2007 we'll be there again :grouphug:

I agree with everyone else. Disney has that special something. pixiedust: What I don't understand is the people who never want to visit. I have always wanted to go there, and now, it is like a dream come true each time we go. Stress is forgotten and magic is real. How come everyone doesn't get it? My DH and kids are like me--we are all addicted but most other family members don't get it. They visit once and miss most of everything (lack of planning because they know it all ;) ) and then they tell us we are crazy for going back again. Oh well, I guess it will remain our secret! :teeth:

One of the biggest things that makes it enjoyable for me is the attention to detail. No little thing is overlooked. That is a big part of the magic for me.

ahhhh, where do I start?
Well, whenever I get stressed I tell Dh and friends that I need to go to my happy place.
I love the smells of Disney and what's great is when you are out and you get a whiff :lmao: of something that instantly brings you back.
I leave all my problems behind the minute we get in the car and head down. We use to fly but the last time we drove and loved it so much that we will never fly again.
I love the fact that Disney does everything (as close as you can get) to perfection.
I love to watch the parade on main street and cry every single time when overcome with feelings of joy (I mean come on, how often does that happen?)
I love the fact that our family is all so happy to be there that there is no time for arguments (especially when one of them is a teenager.)
I just love that feeling that you get several times a day when you are at WDW of total joy and happiness.
All that being said, MAN am I miserable when I get back. :(

The detail.
Yes the detail is second to none.
Diz Karen you got that right.
