Scott ... Thank you for reading. You are my 5th all-time poster! So, you made the top 5. :cheer2: We will definitely be going back to Disney World but I think we may need to wait a couple of years. It was great getting to know you. No, I haven't been over to your real PTR yet. I will definitely come over there. It may have to be after the holidays as I do have a lot going on right now. But I will definitely be there! :santa:

:woohoo: :woohoo:

top 5 here. should I really be excited over that. I think I need to get out. :rotfl2: Thanks for doing a great report.

do u count each one or is there a button I am missing that calculates it. Doing it manually must take forever.

DM - this was a great TR...I haven't posted much but I have kept up with your updates regularly. I liked reading what someone else was doing when we were at the world at the same time. I wish our paths would have crossed! It was fun getting to know you and all of the other June Disers...thanks again for starting "our" thread.

Rob and I were watching the Travel Channel the other night. Samantha Brown was on with her Disney Holiday special. Rob commented that it seemed like a long time already since our vacation to Disney World at the end of June. I sadly agreed.

Never heard of this show but I can certainly relate to your comment :guilty:

It’s hard for me to write my final thoughts now. Some people will think it’s a bit over the top but I am a bit teary eyed now writing this.

Not me. I know exactly how you feel.

DM said:
It’s been so much fun writing all these updates and reliving my family’s Disney vacation with all of you. I was a bit apprehensive at first wondering if my TR would be interesting enough to draw any attention to fellow DISers. I was extremely happy that I had followers to my TR, and quite a few at that! At times I may have sounded like I had an ego trip but honestly I was so grateful that you all stayed around.

I'm sure we all feel that way and it's very unfortunate that some TR's go unnoticed. I wish I had time to read and respond to them all but sadly there just isn't enough time, especially once you make friends with a few posters.

DM said:
I have been a DISer since 2002 when began planning a trip for my then family of 4. I read some Trs but did not make any friends on the DIS. I was the lurker, the one that was very unsure of even giving out a real name. I posted CNY as my location. I took a stab at writing a TR after our trip but I didn’t know anything about posting pictures and I had only a couple of people read my TR. I don’t think I ever finished it. Since then I had been on and off, just checking things from time to time.

I didn't know that! I think the TR boards have come a long way and are much more popular now :yay:

Flash forward to the beginning of 2007. It was time to start planning another real Disney trip and I jumped right back on the DISboards. I started posting infrequently. I met a wonderful person, Courtney, on a June 2007 thread and we really hit it off. I began my own thread called, “DISers Stalking DISers,” and met up with a another bunch of great people, all who were going at the end of June to Disney World.

I kinda remember that thread but never took the time to read it. :sad2:

DM said:
Then I started to get venturesome. I joined the Team Focker Watch thread and there I met up with even more wonderful people. I stopped being so cautious and the real me really came out. Lucky all you!

Very lucky! :goodvibes

I'm so glad we met on the boards cause I've had a blast with you. You have a terrific sense of humour

I had done all my homework, and then some ... you all know about that. I chose Port Orleans Riverside. Rob and I had stayed there before and we really liked it. Plus, it was the only moderate that could accommodate our family of 5. The “low-end” deluxes couldn’t accommodate us unless we got a suite. And since we were really on a budget, POR was the way to go! This resort was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed every single day walking through those grounds. I look back on the bit of video we took of it and still get that good feeling about this place.

It's a gorgeous resort, I'll give it that ::yes::

DM said:
However, and there is always a however, eh? Rob and I did miss the Yacht Club. We had stayed there in 2003. It is almost impossible to compare a moderate to a deluxe like that but we still did from time to time. As much as we loved POR, if we ever could swing getting a deluxe next time, the Yacht Club would be our first choice! I could go on about why but I won’t now. I’ll be happy to answer any questions to anyone who has them though.

Maybe someday we'll have the pleasure of staying at a deluxe :wizard:
Count yourself lucky :upsidedow

This vacation was a wonderful one for me and my family. We had a great time. Sure, there were some low points but in the whole, the good times and great memories so made up for any low times.

It's like having a baby...you forget the pain eh? ;)

DM said:
Evan came home from school right before Thanksgiving with a drawing of Blizzard Beach with a couple of sentences of what he was thankful for this year. He wrote ...

“I am thankful for my parents. They took me to Florida. We stayed there 7 days. It was a lot of fun.”

That's so sweet :goodvibes

DM said:
This touched my heart more than you can know. Hearing my kids still talk to this day about going back to Disney World and what they remember, even Brookie. She’s actually the one who blabbers the most about going back to Disney World.

It's the best thing we've ever done

DM said:
Do we have any future trips planned to Disney World you may ask? The answer is a sad no. Without going on too much I’ll just say that we are not in the position of spending that kind of money any time soon. We will definitely be going back again someday. Of course we will! And I know you all here at the DISboards will be here to help me plan it. Until then I will be reading your Trs and living vicariously through all of your trips.

You'll be back before ya know it :woohoo:

DM said:
I want to thank you all for reading and giving me the most wonderful comments. It has meant so much to me to have you all here and I feel truly blessed that I have made so many new friends! ... even if you all are just virtual. ;) :grouphug:

I have so enjoyed reading your TR!!!! Thanks so much for sharing all the highs and lows of your family trip. It helped me relive so many wonderful memories of when my children were little and just how magical our trips to WDW were!;) I can only hope that you're able to save enough money so that you can go back to WDW soon. I'll really miss logging onto the DisBoards and not having your TR to read.:sad2: Merry Christmas and a happy 2008!!!

Woohoo! Top 31! yay, me!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Go to the main trip report page and click on the number of posts and a count shows up. :thumbsup2

I never knew that. Thank you.

I am very chatty on my thread. :scared1:

Hey, it's your thread, you can be as chatty as you want.
You all crack me up! Nuff said.

Sonya ... I'm glad you at least popped at the end of my TR! It means a lot to me. It seems like long ago that we were all planning our trips on our Stalking thread. And since I've done it with everyone else, I have to do it with you. You are officially ranked in a 5-way tie in the 39th position!

Never heard of this show but I can certainly relate to your comment :guilty:
That's too bad. It was a special on the Travel channel and Samatha Brown is just so darn cute.

I'm sure we all feel that way and it's very unfortunate that some TR's go unnoticed. I wish I had time to read and respond to them all but sadly there just isn't enough time, especially once you make friends with a few posters.
I hate to say it but some are better than others. And there have been a couple of TRs that I subbed to, posted comments, and then went unnoticed. Whatever. I unsubbed to those. One of the most important things about writing TRs is the social part. I think we have mastered that, eh?

I didn't know that! I think the TR boards have come a long way and are much more popular now :yay:
They certainly are much better. There was only TR back in 2002 that had only a very few pics but was totally great. It was from DelsWife.

I kinda remember that thread but never took the time to read it. :sad2:
No worries. It was an inside thread with people only going to WDW at the end of June 2007. Now the TFW, you only came around once and disappeared. :guilty:

I'm so glad we met on the boards cause I've had a blast with you. You have a terrific sense of humour
Aw! It really has been fun having you here!

It's a gorgeous resort, I'll give it that ::yes::

Maybe someday we'll have the pleasure of staying at a deluxe :wizard:
Count yourself lucky :upsidedow
If maybe you were closer to the, say, certain areas you may have liked it a bit better. But it may be the same way in the values next time too ...

We really lucked out staying at the YC. We had the most awesome price that we couldn't say no to. Staying at the WL was nice but, besides the queen beds, I just can't justify the cost over a mod.

It's like having a baby...you forget the pain eh? ;)
Uhm ... I have never ever had labor pains. C-sections rock!

It's the best thing we've ever done

You'll be back before ya know it :woohoo:
When your family is happy, the World is a better place!

Heidi ... I am so glad that we met here on the DIS and you came over to my TR. It's so cool how just reading and commenting on TRs can bring some people so closer together! And you didn't even start at the beginning of my TR but you were able to rank in at number 4! Unbelievable!

WDW Fan ... I wish I knew your first name. I think I do ... but I don't want to embarrass myself. Anywho, thank you so much for joining my TR and reading along. I am sure my family will get back down to WDW, maybe not as soon as I would like, but we will get back. I usually can make things happen. And your official rank is number 39 which was tied with 4 other people! WTG!!

DM I must say I love how you're officially replying to each poster :goodvibes

TE don't you dare finish this TR before you've finished mine K :headache: :rotfl:

Aw. How sweet of you to call me sweet. That's just sweet! :flower3: I know it is a lot of fun to still do research on Disney stuff plus definitely the gossip and antics that go on here. Hard to resist! Thank you for being tied with V for the 30th place in replies. ;)

:woohoo: Too funny!

BTW-Lessa cheated! No fair! LOL

This TR should get the award for most posts on a TR after it's finished!

Wanted to jump on before this TR closed to say it looks like you guys ahd an awesome time. I love all the pics, and agree about JFK. Being in NYC, we usually avoid flying out of JFK whenever we can.

Thanks for taking us along!

Why thank you Jo. I just think it's a nice thing to do at the end. I really did appreciate each and every person who read my TR! Plus it drags this out just a weensy bit more ... ;)

Worried that TE likes DM's TR more than hers said:

She tried to cheat but I was smarter than you all think I look ... :teacher:

 Yeah I cheated but I cheated too late, she had already calculated our post placements. :guilty:
That's right cheater.

14 - not bad considering I am not as chatty as some other people:rolleyes1
Not bad at all! :thumbsup2
