But we remembered it was nearing the time of Wishes and we definitely wanted to see it. So we made the long-cut through Fantasyland and then hoped to make our way around the castle toward Main Street. But they had the area for the cut-through roped off. We decided that this was the best place to stay then and watch Wishes. We had no idea. We have never seen them. And then they went off. It was totally cool being in Fantasyland. Some of the fireworks were going off right over our heads. The kids loved it. I am sure we missed a lot though as we never really heard the music. There some other fireworks I believe were distorted. I’m thinking the Mickey head ones? It was still nice. Near the end of Wishes we noticed the ground was wet with puddles. Rob asked the CM about it and she said that they had to spray the tops of the buildings during the fireworks for safety as some of them were launched from the tops. Interesting.

Back in my days as a carny, I used to have to spray down all the rides at night prior to leaving. This really has no relevence to your trippy but I've always wanted to mention it.

The kids wanted to ride Dumbo at this point. Hmm ... 5 of us, who’s going on? I graciously allowed Rob and the kids to go on. I told them that I wanted to get their pictures. Secretly I didn’t want to ride Dumbo. Another spinning ride. Not that spinning rides bother me at all. I just think they are boring. While they were waiting in line for Dumbo I looked around. I found the area where they were giving the wristbands out for EMH. I made the mental note to get the bands after the family was off Dumbo. When I saw that they were loading I ran around the perimeter of Dumbo so I could get good pictures before the ride started.

I then remembered that tnmomof4 didn’t call me after Wishes. I checked my phone. No missed calls. I called her and got her voicemail. I left a message that we were staying at the Magic Kingdom until we drop and to call me back.

The pictures on Dumbo are great! I love the one of Rob and DD! Its one to put up at her wedding! BTW: why do you have to put those colored plastic tags on Dumbos ear? so the CMS can keep track of guests? I`ve always wondered what wishes was like from the other side of the castle..no music?

My grandma (dad's mom) really was a carnie. She worked the duck pond. That's how she ended up in California. Liked the weather and stayed. She was divorced from my grandfather and my dad stayed with him. So, we stayed in yucky NY whilst she got to be in the gud weather.

You will get so many different opinions on this one. Here's 2 different feelings.

First Rob: He says that he would rather sleep in every day and go to EMH because he felt better rested and he loves the parks at night.

Now me: I think that to do certain attractions, like EE & Soarin', you need to go early! My figuring would be to do an early day at all the parks and then on the 2nd time you visit a certain park, do the EMH late.

And you said that MB had changed his feelings toward the dark a couple months ago or so? If this is not a feeling that he has had all along, then he may get brave as time goes on. But then, again, you'd have to not be as strict on the bedtime.

I remember the plastic tags, but I don't know their purpose.

Weighing in a little on the EMH - we felt that getting to the parks at rope drop certainly saved us tons of lines, but the day we did Epcot was an evening EMH day. We got there at rope drop and the whole day there was just ridiculously crowded. By the time EMH rolled around, there were no FP's left for the big rides, it didn't significantly lower the crowds... It just seemed crazy busy to us on the EMH day, ALL day. It might have just been that day, though - I keep reading stories about walk-on rides, etc. But, based on that, I have figured that we'll avoid EMH parks, rather than trying to find them. My attitude would probably be different, though, if I had tweens and teens rather than 5 year olds.

Haven't done a late EMH yet. Jimmy hits a wall if he is not in bed by a certain time if you KWIM.....He did pretty well at the Pirate & Princess Party this year, so maye we will try one next August. I definitely want to try LOEMH next year, everyone says it is so worth it becasue you can get pretty much all of FL covered before MK opens to the GP.

The cards are handed out as a head count, or in the case of Dubo and elephant count. How may cards there are are how many Dumbo's there are. 1 card to every party of 2...3 if they a really tiny....

My kids were fine most of the time being out later. But the whole week of our vacation we did take decent breaks and scheduled things as best we could. This being our last night we didn't care, we just wanted to be out as late as possible!

We have done an early EMH before and it is really good for getting things done in Fantasyland! We never did it this year tho.

I have heard that Fantasyland is a very neat and unique place to view the fireworks from. Too bad that you could not hear the soundtrack though, that is a large part of the magic of Wishes for me.

I have a feeling you are going to have to leave the Croc at the resort desk and it is going to get lost like what seems to have happened to many of its other fellow Focker Crockers.
