Your kids looked so happy with all the characters.

I get Brookie out of the stroller and have her walk on first. I then just pick up the open stroller and get on the bus. The driver shot me a look and I said immediately to him, “I know I have to close it. I just wanted to get on. Plus there is no one on this bus.” I quickly folded the stroller and we were off.

This bus trip seemed like the longest ride ever. Did the bus go straight to the Main Building bus stop at POR? Of course not. It normally goes to the French Quarter first. Okay, I’m fine with that because the next stop is always the Main Building bus stop. But not on this occasion. Nope. No sirree Bob! The bus takes the scenic route around the entire Riverside area before going to the Main Building. And I have Brookie crying still. Finally, we get off at our stop and she gets in the stroller and I push her back to our room.

We once got on a bus that was totally empty and put the stroller on, without folding. I figured what's the harm - no one's on the bus. The bus driver rudely said, "Don't you ever try to put a stroller on my bus without folding it up AGAIN!"
First - we didn't know it was a "rule" because this was our first trip with a kid and stroller. Second - he didn't have to be so rude.
Was your bus driver punishing you with the scenic route?

We get into our room and I kick my Crocs flops off. I take care of Brookie. I cleaned her all up you know where, added some Balmex, and she seemed fine.

Have you ever tried Aquaphor? That may work better than Balmex. Poor Brookie!

As we were heading out the doors one of the mugs turned over and crashed to the ground spilling all my Diet Coke.

Now here’s a funny thing. Rob was shaking his head at me taking pictures of all our food. Yet, he videotaped it ... Hmmmm .....

My kids loved the characters at GG. It really was great character interaction. They came around twice or more! That's why I was able to get pictures and videos! The food was good for us this time. We have been there 4 times and only once did we not care for it at all (2003). I think we would go here again for the kids but if they didn't want to go that would be fine with me.

That was totally rude! At least I just got the rude look. If the bus driver was punishing me, he was punishing himself too with my crying Brookie right near him!

YouTube has better quality, I think, and it uploads much much faster. Plus, I like having the YouTube account. I have had other people comment on my vidoes - people I don't even know! One person said that her cousin was the CM on our Splash Mtn video.

My sister is known for being the biggest "scaredy cat" in the world - we had to talk her into going on Goofy's Barnstormer. (this is a 41 year old mother of three we are talking about ) ... she finally agreed, and SCREAMED the entire ride, and her poor husband had nail marks in his arms...

The rest of us tried to pretend we didn't know her - and a little boy sitting in back of her (he must have been 4 or 5 at the most) says to her at the end of the ride, "You were really scared, weren't you???" But the look on his face was priceless - like "are you for REAL, LADY?!"

What's Dineyland?

Another DISer has a trip report on Disneyland. But originally his TR had the typo that spelled "Dineyland". When it was finally corrected, we all wanted him to back to Dineyland because we all liked it!

Our tree and lights were up the day after Halloween.

That's just a tad early for me but I would have put it up last weekend. Rob would never let me do that.

Friday, June 29...Magic Kingdom
Wishes in Fantasyland

Hopes:

1. A magical day to remember on our last day



We all wanted to head into Fantasyland at this time.

But we remembered it was nearing the time of Wishes and we definitely wanted to see it. So we made the long-cut through Fantasyland and then hoped to make our way around the castle toward Main Street. But they had the area for the cut-through roped off. We decided that this was the best place to stay then and watch Wishes. We had no idea. We have never seen them. And then they went off. It was totally cool being in Fantasyland. Some of the fireworks were going off right over our heads. The kids loved it. I am sure we missed a lot though as we never really heard the music. There some other fireworks I believe were distorted. I’m thinking the Mickey head ones? It was still nice. Near the end of Wishes we noticed the ground was wet with puddles. Rob asked the CM about it and she said that they had to spray the tops of the buildings during the fireworks for safety as some of them were launched from the tops. Interesting.

The kids wanted to ride Dumbo at this point. Hmm ... 5 of us, who’s going on? I graciously allowed Rob and the kids to go on. I told them that I wanted to get their pictures. Secretly I didn’t want to ride Dumbo. Another spinning ride. Not that spinning rides bother me at all. I just think they are boring. While they were waiting in line for Dumbo I looked around. I found the area where they were giving the wristbands out for EMH. I made the mental note to get the bands after the family was off Dumbo. When I saw that they were loading I ran around the perimeter of Dumbo so I could get good pictures before the ride started.

I then remembered that tnmomof4 didn’t call me after Wishes. I checked my phone. No missed calls. I called her and got her voicemail. I left a message that we were staying at the Magic Kingdom until we drop and to call me back.

After the family got off Dumbo we made our way to get our wristbands for the night. We were still having a great time and no way did we want the night to end ...
