WHY do people think there is no need for Personal Space while in a line????

I so totally agree about personal space, but then again, what is personal space? Unfortunately, it is becoming a thing of the past and I want to go with it.

I hate strangers touching me and God help them if they touch my kids. I don't want to be smothered, sneezed on, elbowed, kneed, jabbed, or crowded in any way, shape or form. I like being talked to at a safe distance, but I don't want to be touched while being communicated with. This is not only Disney.

From what I've been told, America is one of the few countries that recognizes "personal space." Europeans don't practice this concept and they are all over everyone when they come here. I don't think they plan on being rude, just a different culture. I can accept that. Americans, I can't understand or accept. It just grays my very light blonde hair and fries what's left of my brain cells. Why do they want to touch me?

I also hate people on my bumper when I'm driving. That's my extended personal space. I want a cars length between us. I break for everything and don't want you in my backseat. Yes I guess I have real personal space issues and that's fine with me. :teeth:

100% agree that a little space around me while in line is a good thing. I wish more people felt this way. Especially when it is hot. Jeepers.

As I've gotten older I've gotten to where I will say, "I am super claustrophobic, you are going to have to back up a little or it will completely freak me out." If they're rude enough to invade my personal space (of which I'm very fond), I'm outspoken enough to tell them to move away. I am not too touchy feely and I especially don't enjoy sweaty strangers touching me. Yuck!

I disagree. I HATE HATE HATE HATE it when people touch my son's head (He's a blondie so he tends to get a lot of attention). He is not a pet, you don't touch him. Do I go up and pet you on the head? Who touches other people's kids who they do not know?

Sorry, but I hate when strangers touch my kid. It stems from the fact that he is special needs and I watch what/who he is exposed to, but still, don't touch strangers kids heads.

:stir: I don't know about anyone else, but I try not to touch anyone (particularly someone I don't know well) without asking--whether it's a pat on the back or a hug. This especially applies to children. Hope I don't get flamed... :duck:

i know what you mean!!!! that makes me furious in disney. people your not getting there any faster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

I have a very low tolerance for personal space invaders. If my body language doesn't work, I shoot them a few looks when they continually bump me. If they still don't get the hint and back off, I'll simply say "Would you please not stand quite so close to me?".

Those that were being oblivious usually sheepishly oblige & offer an apology. Those that get snotty about it and continue to try to stand on my back are faced with me standing sideways with my arm held, bent at the elbow, out at 90 degrees so my forearm blocks them from touching me and my arm creates a reasonable amount of personal space around me. Yeah, it's an "in your face" move but for someone who is being so rude, I don't much care.
