on the rent/trade board here, and other places, when their points expire within 7 months?

Obviously, there is probably no answer to that question. :lmao:

I'm smiling. Doesn't that just confuse some renters? That at that point it doesn't matter one bit where your home resort is. And a tad misleading for the post. I don't get it.

Just a shake my head kind of thing.

Just habit, I'm guessing. You're right, of course, at 7 months it has no bearing on the ability to book a room.

AAAh Chuck. I thought I was sweet on people. ;)

I have my doubts it is habit. And this is why - because it rarely says "SSR", or OKW, points when it's 7 months. :lmao: And I'm not bashing folks. One of my home resorts is SSR. It's usually listed at one of the harder resorts to book.

Do you mean people on the rent/trade board list as one of the harder resorts? That's pretty deceptive if so.

If the points were to be transfered, could they then be banked? Wouldn't the buyer what to know the resort?
Bobbi:confused3

Well... yes it does.

The points can still be banked and then could be used to book a room at my home resort in 8 months!

That's true, if a renter is looking to rent 11 months out, even after the end of a use year, the home resort would be important...as it may be to someone who wants a transfer.

If the points are specifically being offered for a regular rental within the 7 month time frame, though, no difference.

Absolutely Bobbi. I wasn't talking about transferring. But I didn't state that. :)

And as for banking to do a reservation...hmmmm. Never gave that thought. But I honestly don't think that is often what happens.

Sometimes I've seen " ___ points are about to expire" (less than banking window). No banking there.

Anyway, this is just a pet peeve of mine with a smile. Not a big deal. Nor rampant. I just feel bad that some renters, not knowing all the ins and out of DVC at times, jump on some posts when they see their favourite resort not realizing that at 7 months it doesn't matter.

Yes, because when I do see it it's almost always one of the more popular resorts. And I'm usually not a suspicious person. :goodvibes

But if any owner can get what the renter wants, well no biggie in the end. But regardless I do think, done consciously or unconsciously, it's misleading - and my eyes not right - for the renter who has no idea that everyone is equal at seven months.

Okay got to get back to RAPS and MAGIC. Lord I love the NBA playoffs. Just love it. I'm feeling the Lakers to take it all. Okay, off topic.

:lmao: Lisa
