Why do most people pay inflated prices?

Looks like the host webserver is having some problems ;)
Oh really? The whole thing is moving to another right now, but when I corrected the link and when I tested it again just this minute everything seemed to work fine... (except for editing which is from time to time blocked... while the admin repaints the database or whateveridontknow)... well never mind. I said it's fresh (or lets say "revived") so don't blame me... Hope you like the idea though ;)

Is it my bad french but I thought francilien tickets were just for people who lived in the paris area (and you may be asked proof of address). So unless you know someone who lives in paris you can't buy the francilien tickets.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

thanks

Anyone can buy them but as you cannot use them on day 2 and day 3 of your holiday they are not the most useful AP unless you live locally. Or go for one day, then go elsewhere on day 2 and 3. Then come back to the park on day 4 :)

This is a bit confusing for sure. The only thing that was restricted to the region was the 'Proximity' passport which was cancelled in March 2007.

But 'Francilien' tickets + passports are available for everyone (it's stated on the french site: "accesible à tous").

So being on site everyone can buy Francilien APs (even at the front cashiers) without any proof of residence. Francilien tickets which must be ordered in advance might be tricky to get, as they only show up on the french booking site. I'd suggest to order them to your Hotel address in doubt. You'll get an e-mail confirmation anyway, and you can use this to get your "real" tickets at the entrance then (Pluto desk).

Giving no guarantees, I just reflect whats in the small print!

I may be wrong but aren’t there quit a lot of ifs and when’s?

I wonder if its really worth all the afford and then not be sure to get the tickets you have paid for ?:confused3

I don’t know how all the other members feel when you arrive at the park but we are tired, hungry and just like to get the tickets strait in the hotel.
I am lazy I know , I really do ;)

Hmh.. well I just tried my best to bring light to the hidden saver tips of DLRP, so that not everyone has to find out everything on his own (which would mean "investing even more work" compared to "use the hints and do a simple online booking" without then ifs and whens). Of course it's the most simple way to just book a package (regardless of its price) and you're done.

But consider that there are families out there having no choice but to be penny-pinchers, and most of the 'saver tips' can probably be important to them. If family have the choice of going to Disney the cheap way or instead NOT going at all, I am happy to have been helpful!

After all: I did that long and complex posting to show that there can be really big differences in ticket prices, and that was the initial topic of the thread... I guess I invested much more time than the "users" would have to, but I surely didn't it for my own benefit...

Cheers + enjoy DLRP at whatever price :-)))

I did not mean to insult you, ore have critic on you but nobody can give a positive answer ore experienced how these tips work out in the real life.

It would be such a shame if after all the affords you have to take to get them you stand before the gates and have problems ore worse have to pay extra.

As a matter of fact I also understood that these tickets where only for French people but its never to late to learn.

I defintely agree! But let me point out this detail: when you do the online booking, you WILL get a confirmation either by postal delivery or by e-mail, and this document entitles you to get your real ticket on site without any ifs and buts.

With a confirmed "ticket booked and paid" nothing can go wrong (the lawyer in me says *lol*): Should there be any restriction to apply, they has to be applied before anyone takes your money! I've carefully been reading the conditions and restrictions, but (you're right indeed!) it would be much better having someone confirm our theoretics! Without a challenge, however, probably no one would ever try :)

Be ensured that I work on a getting a positive and proven feedback to support every tip I give... look at sebhoff who in fact brought up the topic, ordered such a ticket, got his confirmation code and will probably report if anything went the right way! Oh hey sebhoff don't forget to take a photo of this mysterious Pluto desk :)

Ok, thanks for showing us how to get cheaper tickets, now can someone please tell me cheapest way to get there from the UK?!! Hadnt thought about going to DLPR as all the quotes I had been given were astronomical, so started thinking about going on a day trip. We are 2 adults and 5 kids (aged 13, 10, 7, 3, 1). Any advice please!!!

To be honest, it's a heck of a journey with small kids for just one day. You would be as well off booking a dirt cheap hotel locally ( Holiday Inn rooms start at just 89 Euro and it's a super location right next to the resort.). Your profile indicated you are on the south coast of England. This makes you a prime candidate for a cheap ferry crossing. Keep an eye out, the off peak ferry rates can be very good, as can the tunnel. There are always cheap ways of doing Disney and remember your 1 year old pays nothing, even meals in table service restaurants are free for under 3's.

Thanks. I got a quote for going for the weekend in sept and it was £1400!! There was no way we were ever going to go if it cost that much. Then I got looking into info for my friend who is going in Sept and started to think there must be a cheaper way of doing it! Thanks for the info xx

I always wrote off Disney as a prospect, as all travel agents here were quoting about 1500 Euro for a classic package of 3 days two nights. Then one day, I came accross the actual website, found an offer and sorted out our travel and transfers ourselves. 5 nights in the Cheyenne, 6 days in the park, flights and transfers for 4 of us came in at just over 1000. That was 3 years ago and we are on our 5th trip........where there is a will there is a way:thumbsup2

Nowadays, I am like to local Disney rep. All friends and neighbours get a quote from their agents, then come to me and I get a much better deal for them. Should put myself on commission!!!

OK - here's my report:

I ordered via FranceBillet - they have a website in English. I got a confirmation code which I showed to the FNAC Forum Les Halles ticket counter (just one of the long list of sales outlets that are supported). I *could* have had the tickets sent to the UK if there had been enough time - but there wasn't. Since we decided to stay in the city centre anyway, that was fine.
All it took was my credit card and some form of identification - e.g. a passport. I received tickets for two days (one each for one park at 29 Euro and one each for two parks at 39 Euro, because it was for Friday). The tickets were for two consecutive days and I did not have to show any proof of residence (in Paris) or anything else...
When we got to Disneyland, we queued up at the Guichet Pluto, only to be told that we didn't need to. You get into the park(s) with just this ticket. No problems whatsoever.
The only thing that was slightly different from almost everybody else was that our tickets were much larger and therefore didn't fit into the FastPass machines. On the first day, we got our fastpass tickets from members of staff - no problems (and no restrictions on how many different FastPasses you could get at a time). Today, we were given separate fastpass tickets when we entered the first park - and then again when we entered the second park. So in effect, we each had two options for FastPasses rather than just one - which we didn't really need. ;-)
Anyway - the short summary is: There's absolutely no problem with these tickets, you can get them for as many consecutive days of your holiday as you want and they are significantly cheaper than the normal tickets.
If you have any additional questions, just let me know and I'll try to answer.

Glad to hear everything went well sebhoff. Did you have a good time?? :wizard:

Good to know! What where the FNAC tickets like? I guess they did not fit in the turnstiles machines, too? Have you been let into by a CM, and did (s)he take the ticket then? What kind of FastPass tickets did you get on the second day? (I guess it was something like a normal day ticket.., not a VIP FastPass or whatever?)

(and no restrictions on how many different FastPasses you could get at a time)
Even for one and the same attraction before reaching the printed "Another FASTPASS will be available after ..." time? Or just for different attractions?

Thanks for your investigational experiment on yourselves ;)

They are much bigger - and consist of two parts, one of which is torn off when you enter the park. They keep the small part with your name one - and you keep the bigger one (with the date, etc.) I can scan it in on Tuesday if anyone is interested.
The fastpass tickets we got were of the same format as the normal entrance tickets, so they did fit into the fastpass machines. It's a white "ticket", but it says (in French) that it's *not* a ticket that gets you into the parks(s) and shows. It's just a replacement of the normal tickets for the fastpass machines – and I suppose they for some reason didn't have them on the first day...

Well - we didn't try. But basically, we just got them from a Disney-official who was at the fastpass machines - we just showed our tickets and said we needed two. In principle, I'm sure we could have returned 10 minutes later and got another two. But Thursday wasn't such a busy day and fastpasses were available throughout the day - so we weren't even tempted to try. ;-)

Did I have a good time? Yes - but two days were plenty for me. ;-) I went with my 8-year old son alone - my wife had to stay back in the UK because the British Home Office take six months to issue a residence card to non-EU spouses of EU citizens, during which time they keep my wife's passport, in effect restricting their right of free movement in the EU. Amazing what they get away with - a truly impressive mixture of incompetence, indifference and inefficiency! Sorry - that's off topic. But still *very* annoying.

sebhoff, the details in your report is very helpful. Thanks for posting.

Was it easy to get from central Paris to Disney? Did you get a Visite Pass for transportation?
