OK, so I got the boys their Christmas presents, and I gave them tonight. Because they don't know what Christmas is, anyway. It's these nice comfy pads that they can sit on and traps hair and whatnot. A present for all of us, really. I put one on Tycho's couch and one on Wedge's. (Yeah, they each have a couch. DH and I have none.) Well, guess what they liked better?

A BOX! Mommy loves us so much that she gave us a box! Yay!

It's like living with toddlers, but they never grow up!

If they do start using them you'll have to let me know how they work. I thought about getting one for my kitty.

Now I don't feel so bad that my dog has her own recliner. ;)

Hope they do decide to play with their new toys soon!

LOL...mine are the same way...We buy catnip toys...and they are more interested in the package it came in..LOL..

Cheap Cat Toy #1 - Tin Foil Ball
Cheap Cat Toy #2 - Paper Bag

LOL..

All I know is, they are very handsome and I would like to rub their bellies.:teeth:

A laser light pen is one of the coolest gifts for a cat...they go nuts trying to "catch" that little red dot. My cats used to literally jump up walls trying to get it...and my oldest kitty, Baxter, used to make this weird "gak-gak-gak" sound while he jaw moved really fast trying to catch it.

Cats are so silly :)

LOL

My kitty LOVES christmas....All those new empty bags and boxes!

I can't wait to tell DH that we are not the only one whose dog has his own recliner.

LOL, my cats loved Christmas. They loved the ribbons and bows, not wearing them though. lol
They loved it anytime I went to the grocery store, I would bring home the paper sacks and they would have a blast. They didn't like the plastic bags so much. :teeth:

and one xmas even he took all the ribbons and bows that were stuck down and then commenced to get all the tags off and then took the tape off the pkgs.........we had to guess whose present was whose....Sir Chester Yak of Pearl Harbor was a total brat.....

Our cats really liked the little RC cars (like zip/zaps). The kids had lots of fun getting them to chase it around!

:) This is the first post I read today...thanks for starting my day off with a laugh! :)

I have two fur babies and I know exactly what you mean..

What precious kitties you have!

I have had cats all my life, but Jack and April, our 2 yo brother and sis are the first that I have heard make that gak-gak-gak (very descriptive...lol) noise when they see a bug or bird.

My cats (4 at the time) hated those purr pads. Everytime I would try to get one of them to lay on it, they would freak out. Like your cats, they did enjoy the box. They also hate their beds, they are now used to hold their toys and they sleep on my bed. Now I stick to buying catnip toys and treats.

Very pretty kitties! We, too, have bought too many cat gifts that weren't appreciated. I would recommend a cheap child's fishing pole though. We tie on a cat toy (the little balls with bells inside work well) and sit on the sofa and cast for cats. Great exercise for the cats.

kk, I thought one of your "kids" was a siameezer? (Tycho, because s/he's a psycho kitty?) Did I imagine that completely?

Too cute pics though, and I can totally relate. Chopstick has enough toys to open a shop, and the only things he likes to play with are bottle caps from plastic 1 qt water bottles.

OK, I have to admit my first thought was: "What a horrible mother!"...but then I scrolled down to the pictures and realized you were talking about cats! Sorry...I'm a little slow this morning. :teeth:

The consensus this morning - one pad was tossed to the floor, the other has several tears. The box is still being enjoyed. Ungrateful little monsters!

Stepharoonie - they have a laser already, but lately have been too lazy to chase it.

Peggy - we have several feathers on a stick, too!

M - I think Tycho is part Siamese, even though he doesn't look it. He "talks" constantly, like a Siamese.

HB - :teeth: You mean sleeping pads aren't good gifts for kids?

Heck yeah sleeping pads are excellent gifts for kids, so is NYQUIL and ROBITUSSIN...it makes them sleep!! I'm kidding, I don't give my child medicine just to make him be quiet for 3 seconds.

My babies love boxes as well. I did find a great buy at Petco though...one of the larger cat trees on clearance for $50 because the top was loose. Brought it home and it took DH exactly 1 minute to renail the top and my babies LOVE IT!! They love climbing on it and sleeping on it. Its the best money I ever spent!!

The boys' Grampy built them a giant cat tree two years ago - it's six feet tall! They sleep in the top and ignore all other levels, except as a path to the top. I swear, they are the most ungrateful creatures!

LOL! Thats because they are the boss, to heck with what you want...LOL!

Mine ignore the bottom level as well and go directly to the top. Its funny because they will fight over the top. Believe me I know how spoiled they can be.
