Why do I bother? (rambling vent that probly won't make sense)

Why do I even bother trying to keep someone from making an expensive mistake they "want" to make?

Why do I bother even trying to talk to this person, when even just trying to *talk* to the person always leads to discussion about the mistake again?

Why bother?

You know one thing I've learned from trying to deal with my Mom -sometimes you just have to reassure yourself that you would never let her be homeless or starve to death.

Then realize that her mistakes are hers to make. She is not your child. You can't control her life and if you can't control it, you can't let her mistakes drive you nuts.

There are times when people are not rational, especially when life is difficult. You may not be able to do anything about their choices, but just being there with them can mean all the difference in the world. Remember, sometimes all you can do is let them know you love them and be there for them when their choices go sour.

Most of us have to make our mistakes ourselves to learn from them. I wish I could have learned from the mistakes OTHERS made and told me about....but no, I had to go and make the same mistake myself before it sunk in.

Oh well, these are Life's lessons.

Sometimes all we CAN do is sit and watch. Painful? You bet.
Difficult to do? Almost impossible at times. But sometimes it's the ONLY thing you can do.
