Why do cats follow you into the bathroom?

LOL. I have one cat in particular who always follows me into the bathroom. I don't get it! I can understand them following me in the kitchen because there's food there.
And heaven forbid I should close the bathroom door! They hate that!

Between DD and the cats, I haven't used the bathroom by myself in 14 years :rotfl2:

WOW again I am so glad to know I'm not the only one. Funny story today my parents were over for lunch and Mom went to the bathroom and didn't realize she had a cat with her until he meowed when she turned the light off as she was leaving. He had followed her in as well. One of mine really loves when I take a bath he will dip his paw in and just sit on the side (and I laugh really hard when his cocky self falls in)

Mine follows me into the bathroom in the morning so he can take a shower! He actually takes one with me and one with DH! He's a very clean cat :) .

Mine do that too, 2 in particular. I guess they just want to know where I am and what I am doing, at all times.

Mine do that too and you get the crying and the little paws under the door if you dare shut it. When I take a shower most times I come out to an "audience" two cats and a dog  Good thing I'm not shy :lmao:

I miss cats! We had to put down my pretty girl 3 years ago. We decided my allergies were just too much after that, and got a miniature schnazuer, which I am not allergic to at all. ( I don't know why, but did research and apparently they are a "low allergy" breed).

Anyhow, I also grew up with cats. My childhood cat was put down last year by parents at the age of..gasp! 23!

They've always followed me into the bathroom. And why do they sit there perfectly content, then suddenly decide "I must be in the bedroom now!" and take off faster than you can see?? Hmm....:cat:

Don't know why, but ours do this too. I just don't get it. But, they are social...

It may be that they realize that there is a captive audience to pet them. I hate how one of ours bites my leg gently if I stop petting her. Very strange.

They are so much entertainment for little fluf balls.

I have the STRANGEST cats of all!! My one kitty, Haze, jumps in the bathtub WITH ME!  No joke. He LOVES water and I bathe him every week...he looks forward to that time. :)

Here is a pic of my water baby:

Wow Lori, my cats play in the water left over after a shower, but wouldn't purposely get in it. You would think it was battery acid!

And he is beautiful...looks great after all he has been through!

Thanks Wendy, he really is my pride and joy. :cloud9: You would never guess the hell he has been through.....just had an appointment a few weeks ago and his kidneys are perfect. :)

Get this...kitty waits to go poo until I'm in the shower EVERY DAY.

I get out of the shower to the fresh smell of kitty poo each morning cuz he likes to do his business while I shower.

What a treat...I feel so loved!

My DDIL was just telling me about their cat, Jinx. He's a big old fat fluffy long haired gray cat. She walked into their bathroom yesterday and found Jinx stuck head first in the trash can back feet flailing away. When she called his name his flailing back legs froze in position. I guess he was hoping she wouldn't see him. She pulls him out of the trash can and he comes out with the piece of paper he apparently was after in his mouth. Must have needed some reading material. I told her she should put some magazines in there for him.

Oh YEAH!!!! I had pretty much NO HOPE of him surviving. His kidneys had totally shut down and his other organs were shutting down too. The vet told me it was time to say "goodbye"...I couldn't. I am so thankful I have a stubborn streak and won't listen to "reason"....lol. ;)

My miracle kitty is well loved and babied on a daily basis... :goodvibes :goodvibes

Here I thought my cat was just a perv. He has to sit and wait on me while I shower, he has to sit on the counter while I brush my teeth, etc. He has a certain place to be the entire time I'm in the bathroom.

There is NO closing the door if he isn't in there with me. Gotta love em!

One of our cats waits patiently on the sink when she knows we will be coming into the bathroom- in the morning when I get out of bed, there she is on the sink to greet me. At night when I go to brush my teeth, there she is. She like to sip from the running faucet.

One of the other cats likes takes advantage of a captive audience to be petted when I am in the bathroom.
