Why couldn't I leave it alone?

I could just kick myself right now. GRRRR!!! DH and I decided to paint our bedroom. So today I am putting the finishing touches on the trim when I notice I missed a spot in between two pieces of trim. Do you think I could leave well enough alone? Of course not! I decide that I was going to get that one teeny tiny spot that nobody else would notice but me. First off I ended up dropping a blob of paint on the floor because my drop cloth had shifted away from the wall and I didn't notice it. Then I ended up cleaning the paint up off the floor. Then I smeared off the paint that was in the process of drying. If I tried to go over it again it just made it worse. Now I have to wait until it dries so that I can repaint it. Why couldn't I leave it alone?

Because that small spot that nobody else could see would drive you insane until you fixed it...
Just take deep breaths - let it dry - repeat with paint equals better sleep tonight knowing that small spot isn't staring at you...

You are exactly right. I can be too much of a perfectionist at times. Serves me right for not leaving well enough alone though.

Don't feel bad. Last month, for the first time in our lives we hired a professional painter. Mucho bucks.

Well, as soon as they left I just HAD to vacuum up. The hose hit the wall, the paint wasn't dry and it came right off. I thought DH would kill me. So I ran down to the basement and got the leftover paint. But I got such a big brush it left brush marks where I touched it up. Oh well, some day it all won't matter!!

Glad I'm not alone. Hopefully I've learned my lesson now. lol
