Why Chicago?

Does anyone know why DVC held a reception only in Chicago? I also think this was the only other location for Disney Quest (outside Orlando). Just curious why Chicago. Annmarie

Seriously, Disney puts on a big event this time each year in Chicago. It was probably an easy tie in for DVC. Lots of potential DVCers as well as current members they hope to entice into buying more points will be downtown anyway.

Disney has been part of the Magnificient Mile Lights Festival for a number of years. That happens this evening. They said at the event that they are going to try and go to more and more cities to meet the members. Guess this was the first of that.

I'd throw out another answer. Possibly the most people who go to WDW are from Chicago?

DVC did a mailing of invitations to this reception to 5,000 members from the greater Chicago area. I would venture to say this is a highly concentrated number of DVC members and a good place to test the waters so to speak.

If they feedback is positive, look for more of these events, possibly, in various areas around the U.S.

Maybe they next DVC is going to be built there, how's that for a rumor?

They said this was their very first time doing this and they hope to do more. They said Chicago ranked 6th in DVC ownership in the US. So that is probably why. They said they plan on doing more of these and from the sounds of it vary the location.
