Yesterday, we went to sears shopping. What was suppose to be DD8 and I turned into DD7, DD8 DH and I...oh well, its all good.

I was looking for jeans. I start in the juniors section. heres what I find

wide leg, low rise, hip huggin, flare leg, stretch, worn parts, glittery decorated ones.

I head to the "womens" dept where I never shop..what do I find..elastic waist - ummm no...

so its off to the mens department, where I felt at home. Funny...though DH wasnt laughing.

'why do you have to buy mens jeans- it makes your butt look droopy"...I didnt even reply

I grabbed 5 pair of 550 relaxed fit 29/30's and went to the changing room. Started with the lighter blue- HA no droopy butt...by the time I was done- he agreed with me that they arent droopy in the butt.

So we're walking out and DH says "so do they not make jeans for women?"

Yeah- sure..if they'd just make JEANS normal for chicks- I'd be fine!

I go to Walmart, they have NORMAL jeans there, lol... droopy butt? I remember when I used to wear nothing BUT "boys" clothes PERIOD!!! When I was in Jr High. My mom used to get SOOOOOO mad! Now I dress DD11 in boys clothes, her choice though, not like I FORCE her or anything. (here is where an angel smiley would come to play)! :)

I went to the Gap yesterday because I had that gift card I won at work. So they didn't have the coat I liked, and I decided to get jeans instead.

That was a chore. First off, I have gained two (almost 3) sizes since I last went shopping for clothes. I have no idea what size I am but I'm pretty sure everything in the Gap runs small and tight. And WHY, WHY must we expose our stomach with all the jeans???

That is my biggest problem. My stomach is not something I think anyone particularly wants to see and I don't understand why every paid of jeans is "low rise".

I found one pair that wasn't but they only had them in sizes 0 and 2.

So I totally hear you on this. It's frustrating.

I did end up with a pair of jeans that were slightly less low rise than the other low rise jeans, and a pair of gray courdoroys that only fit me when I bought them 2 sizes larger than the jeans.

I buy my jeans through the Sears catalog.

Another frustrated jeans shopper. I don't understand it. Even the Levi's for women these days are either low rise flared things, or "loose" fit, which means I could go parasailing in them. I just want jeans!! I have a couple pairs of jeans "left-over" from my ex, and I've taken to wearing those...but they do have the "droopy butt"!! :o :p

Going shopping for jeans is no fun at all. I wish they made women's jeans like mens' with a waist size and inseam listed. I envy DH because he can buy clothes without even trying them on. He just looks at the size - which always fits the same way - and buys them.

Got a question - how do you pick a size when you're looking in men's jeans? I have such a hard time finding jeans to fit my body - my waist isn't in proportion to my hips, so if I buy jeans to fit my hips, the waist is way too big. The only jeans I've found that fit me are Lee relaxed fit jeans with elastic on the sides. I'd like to give men's jeans a try but don't know where to start. Maybe I should try on a pair of DH's jeans - he's a 36x30, so at least I'd have a starting point.

I am telling you. I can't find a pair of Women's jeans that fit me. But Men's Jean are the greatest fit I can find. Mens jeans ride my waist where they are supposed to.

I also love it when DH thinks they are his and he can't seem to get them on. Than he looks at the size. Cracks me up everytime.

::yes::

I may have to actually give the mens section a try next time I have to shop for jeans which hopefully won't be for a while.

Amy - the waist on mens jeans seem different than womens, it is like it is a bit lower (or honestly where it should be).
I just took several different sizes to the dressing room until I found the ones that fit the best.
I had the same problem with womens jeans. If the rear and hips fit I have a large gap at the waist. That doesn't happen with mens jeans.

I have almost given up on buying jeans. I'm plus sized, and petite, so it's almost impossible. I have found some in Walmart that I like. But they're always too long. Oh well. And I love cords, but they are hard to find in petite sizes.

So if I'm looking at men's jeans, should I pick a size based on my waist size or go one or two sizes larger? Men are kind of straight from waist to hips, where women are curvy.

Amy I would probably start with my hip size. And than you can go one higher and one lower and see how they fit.

Happy Hunting.....

I wish they made women's jeans like mens' with a waist size and inseam listed.

They do! Obviously not every brand does, but certain brands do. I think it's Tommy jeans that do, or is it CK? I can't remember, but some brands do.

Gap and Old Navy make different degrees of low rise, so you don't have to have a pair with your belly hanging out.

My favorite jeans right now are a cheap Mossimo pair I found at Target, great straight leg, perfect rise. And a DKNY pair I splurged on, a little bit of stretch, and nice and long for wearing boots with.

You can do it ladies! The perfect non-tapered, not too low, not droopy butt, jeans are out there! ;) :)

I don't know--I had a real problem with the men's jeans. I was so frustrated last year, I went into the men's department and brought several types in with me. I found them to real trim cut through the hip, yet way too big in the waist. They were very "boxy". Then the legs are kind of loose.

I ended up having very good luck at Ann Taylor. They have a flare-leg jean there that is slim through the thigh, ample in the hip and not *too* bad through the waist. I do have to wear a belt with them, but they actually come up on my waist--and since I am tall that is no easy feat.

I always buy my jeans in the men's section. They seem to fit so much better. No flaring at the hips, no tightening in the legs, just nice and straight.

I like men's pants, the waist is lower but isn't low enough to reveal my wobbly bits! (as Bridget Jones would say)

I like Levis 525. I wanted something that wasn't too low and have to agree that women's jeans seem to have all gone to the low waisted side.
I love my new levis!

You and I are the same size--at least in men's wear. I've been resorting to buying men's boot cut jeans as well because I can't stand the "stretch" jeans and all the doo dads. I'm 46 y/o and don't want to look 14 in my attire! I can't wear "women's" sizes because most just don't fit properly--the realaxed fit are just way too wide in the seat AND the waist is always way too big. The low rise, not super lows, but just below the belly button, look better and fit better.

I have found great fitting jeans at Gap. Size 4 gap jeans, low rise (but not super lows) with button fly and boot cut--NO STRETCH! These work great for me. I've also found some through Victoria's Secret--they seem to run a bit big though and are more "relaxed" than I like, but at least they are grown up and come in stretch or NO STRETCH.

I hate jean shopping!

I am going shopping for some today, as a matter of fact! Liz Claiborne works best for me, and I can often find them in short or petites too! :D I hope I have success today, it can be a chore.

The last time I went jeans shopping, I went to Kohls. They seem to have very basic fit Lee and Levi jeans.
