Why can't people resond to evite?

All my evites go into my junk file automatically, I don't ever go through that file just delete everything in it.

I can understand regarding parties that are really for selling things, but this is for a real party with friends. I don't think an evite is any less personal for those who use email frequently. I have to end up sending a seperate email sometimes too, even though I know they have read the official invite. I just don't understand and think it is extremely inconsiderate for the hosts to be left guessing who is/is not coming, how much food to have, etc.

I use email every single day, numerous times during the day, and IMHO, evites are extremely tacky and impersonal. To me, it sends the message that the person hosting the event is just too lazy to write a real invitation and/or too cheap to send it USPS.

As for the remainder of your post, that happens even with a regular invitation. As a general rule, people do not respond to invitations any more. They think that the host has ESP and automatically knows how much food to have.

I agree with the poster that 9 times out of 10 I forget about it. OK, probabaly 10 times out of 10.

No disrespect, I just forget to check my schedule and come back to it.

I know with my son, who is 15, everything is electronic....he gets rare written invites.

Ditto. I hate e-vites & especially e-greetings cards - I delete them, never even open them. I know it's the way of the future but I think it's impersonal. If someone can't take the time to write & mail an invite or card, or call, I don't take the time to reply.

Pretty much how I feel as well - not to mention that I can go for well over a week or two without even checking my emails..

Obviously "email" is not one of my favorite things..
