I am so angry right now, I could throw one heck of a temper tantrum!!
Last Oct., I bought a new Frigidaire refrigerator. I noticed this summer that the freezer compartment kept icing up on the tower. I called for service and they came out to repair it. Still ices up, called a second time...another call.....STILL ices up....this goes on for 4 service calls!!
I called Frigidaire and complained to them. They schedule another call and tell the authorized repair co. to call them once they confirm that it is indeed the same problem. Frigidaire tells me that since there seems to be a problem with my unit, they will authorize to have the unit replaced with the same model or better. Great!! I am quite happy....til I get a call from Lowes, telling me they have the new unit and I have to either BRING IN my refrigerator or pay to have the new one delivered!!
The authorization was not for delivery, only replacement. I called Frigidaire back and they proceed to tell me that since the unit is being replaced AFTER the one year warranty period, it does not cover pick up and delivery charges!!
I try to explain to them that this problem has been going on for months, it didn't start after the first year. I don't see why I should pay delivery since I have allowed their people to come out four times to try and repair it!
Should I of demanded a new unit prior to Oct 15th?!!
I am waiting for a supervisor from Frigidaire to call me back. I don't know if he'll listen any better than their service dept did. To add insult to injury, they don't even have a toll free #!! Word of advice....if you have a "lemon" demand a new one within the year!!
Thanks for listening to me rant.....
