It is sad. Mistress wasn't always such a publicity endearing profession. I remember when women who slept with other peoples well known married husbands were referred to as (rhymes with doors.)

I don't really care what they do with their lives, but to keep hashing it out only hurts the three innocent people in this mess - Elin and the two children.

Even if you don't have respect for the wife, at least have some sympathy for the two toddlers.

I lost respect long ago for Vanity Fair and their anything for money attitude. They see nothing wrong with printing borderline naked pictures of young teens, celebrate hookers (mistresses - and yes Woods is equally digusting), etc.

I totally agree. And I get so sick of "them" blaming the wife when it happens. The men are not off the hook either, they deserve to be the ones humiliated and humbled. And the public is so consumed by what is right and wrong till it seems as though all of our values and etiquette has been watered down and passed off as shallow and narrow mindedness.

But the man, in this case Tiger, is to busy using his dead father to make more money.

They are tramps and to be proud of that fact just sickens and amazes me. Lets hope this is their worst selling month yet!!! I love that one that wanted and apology from Tiger because he lied to her when he told her that she was the only one (well, aside from his wife that is).

Well, it speaks volumes about Tiger Woods' character, and the character of the women involved. The best thing you could say about him now is that he is a cad and that the women he consorts with are, well, attention-seeking semi-pros.
Personally, I've given up on many mainstream "popular" magazines. Vote with your money--don't buy Vanity Fair or any other magazine you find offensive. Print media are facing a real fight for survival in these days of burgeoning electronic media--and a lot are going to find a new audience, re-make themselves, or go under.

Agreed. It is the same reason people watch the news, slimy talk shows, etc. I think it makes people feel better about themselves in a twisted way.

Just for the record, I'm not buying VF. The issue with the mistresses has been heavily promoted on entertainment news. I caught a segment about it while I was cooking. It looked like they dressed some of them up and did the whole nine yards with wardrobe and makeup. What's that saying, you can't make a silk purse from a pig's ear? It reminded me of that saying for some reason.

They should be ashamed because they knew they were messing with a married man! The fact that the media is now glorifying this type of behavior by rewarding them with money for interviews shows just how low society has sunk! And FWIW...The man is a slut too!

That used to be taboo for single women. It appears they were gold digging too, as there were reports that they were paid off with jewelry and money. That's just sleazy. Now they are celebrities? Eww.

They aren't always - some are decent people who wouldn't cheat or knowingly get involved with a married man. As for why others are? I don't have a clue. There is something fundamentally wrong with them, obviously. They're just sleazy, selfish people who don't care about anyone but themselves and have no morals whatsoever, I suppose. They aren't ashamed of themselves because they are missing something - maybe it's basic human decency. Of course it isn't just the women. Men who cheat or who knowingly get involved with married women are also scum. The fact is, it's wrong to cheat and it's also wrong to knowingly be the "other woman" (or man). Anyone who would knowingly do either of those things is disgusting.

If a woman knowingly sleeps with a married man, then yes, she is a slut among other things.

If a married man sleeps with someone other then his wife, then he is a cheating slut.

If a single women sleeps with a man that she is lead to believe is single and then later finds out that he is married, I feel a bit sorry for her. I would not blame her as she was lied to and tricked. However, if after finding out that he is married, she continues to sleep with him, then she becomes a slut.

I find it hard to believe that these women didn't know Tiger Woods was married. The men are responsible as well. They are the ones who have a commitment to their wives.
