I don't think this thread is any different than any other thread goes along with many posts. Just friends gathering on a thread and yakking. I think they frown on personal messages in the title. I remember Saffron getting in trouble once for one to me. And asking about banned people is a definite no-no. But yakking? I think it is OK. Hope to see you around a little more often.

Think about the people in your life. Some leave you feeling drained...they are the energy stealers. Stay away from them. Others leave you feeling great. They give you energy.

Read the Celestine Prophecy it will change your life. It is coming out as a movie.

This is a great theory, but what do you do when you can't stay away from the energy stealers because they are family?

IMO there are people who thrive on seeing others miserable. sad but true. best bet is to try to ignore them to the best of your ability.

If I remember correctly, the OP implied that they might not be back. Wasn't sure if it was a YAGE, but might have been. Which is why I didn't mind a hijacking. And is it hijacking or high-jacking? Now we have something new to think about.


Susan, I can likely get TO Chicago, but if you live on the other side, I'm toast. Had to do that one time and we almost didn't make it through the traffic to make it and I vowed not to do that again.

We live in a suburb of Chicago. Chicago itself even though it is wonderful kind of scares me. My entire life I have gone to Chicago a few times. I can most likely count on one hand how many times I've been there.

When we lived in Wisconsin we went to Chicago one time to go to the science museum, but instead ended up driving through the projects. Thank goodness we had an old beat-up car so we didn't stand out as much as we could have. Pretty scary, especially for someone like me who'd come from a small Oregon town.

I've only driven into the heart of Washington DC about once or twice--usually my DH drives or we take Metro. Actually, usually when we go to Washington DC we don't mean to--we're in VA and we get on the wrong freeway/road and suddenly are across a bridge and WHAM, are in DC. The last time was even in our van with navigation, but we figured we wouldn't screw up again since we've lived here for almost 15 years so we didn't have to navigation turned on. We're hopeless!
