why are mickey bars so popular and what do they taste like? what is it comprised of?

I really can't explain why they are so popular. They consist of vanilla ice cream covered in a chocolate shell in the shape of a mickey head, and on a stick. It is similar to an Eskimo ice cream.

I have to have a few Mickey bars each trip. They are really good thick chocolate coating and the ice cream is very smooth. I know you can buy ice cream cars at the grocery store that are very good, but there's just something about being at DW eatting a Mickey bar that I just love!!

I honestly am not sure about the hype, either, since you can buy them in a circle shape at your local grocery store (dove ice cream bar). Maybe because they are Mickey shaped?

It has to be that they are Mickey shaped.....they are exactly like Dove bars. My favorite is the Nestles Choc Chip sandwich!!!

I think they're popular because people like to bite off the ears one at a time.

It is a really good chocolate covering, but it's probably more the atmosphere than anything else. Honestly, I think everything tastes better at WDW...I'm just so glad to be there!

Yep, they are just like a Dove Bar. In my families opinion, Dove Bars are the best ice cream and chocolate anywhere. The bonus is that they are shaped like Mickey! The downside, they cost more.

I thought that the Mickey Bars were actually Dove bars??? They are really good. On the Disney cruise you can order them from room service - and I did - every day!!! YUM!

Dove bars are made by the Mars company but Mickey Bars are made by Nestle.

I don't get to eat "treats" everyday at home - watching my weight and trying to get the whole family to eat healthy.

But, on vacation...a Mickey Ice Cream bar is a must. A wonderfully delicious treat that you cannot get anywhere else!

Agree that they taste like DOVE bars ... for me, they are really not a big deal, but what I buy when I want an ice cream snack.

I never thought this would happen ~ but I did not care for the Mickey Bar! I love everything chocolate but the dark chocolate on the outside of the ice cream was too dark and too rich for me. I had 2 bites and handed it over to DH. He likes dark chocolate. He had 4 of them while were there! He thought they were great. I wish I had seen the Strawberry Minnies....I would have tried them.
