Why am I still only seeing Dings thru Feb 28?

I check nearly every ding that comes out and I've yet to see one go to May or June. I've seen two dings today and neither went to June. Do I need to change my home airport to MCO? I see other city dings including MCO's but I'm not seeint the same dates that others are.

I've had quite a few DINGS this week for 3/1 - 6/9 for flights from Albany to all of the Florida cities.....$44-$49 each way.

Pittsburgh had a ding yesterday 3/1 to 6/9, $97 roundtrip.

If you're only interested in flights to MCO then change your home airport and you'll get all the DINGs to/from that destination. That doesn't mean you'll see a ding for your route unless one is offered.

I kept my home airport since I do like to go other places but I set up a backdoor link for MCO so I can help post to the History of DING thread. No DING from my home airport for my dates yet but there's lots for other cities. I'm still holding out hope.

Okay, so that's the beginning of it. My "home" airport is Birmingham, yet I still see other airport dings. Why am I getting different dings for these other cities than what is being posted on here, like through June 9 (did that make sense?)?

If I change my "home" airport to MCO, will I still see dings for other cities? Thanks to anyone that can clear up my confusion.

I changed my home airport to Orlando. I am now getting the "big" dings that show all cities and destinations, mostly through Feb 28. I am now also getting smaller dings that go through June for just between Orlando and eligible cities.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have New Orleans as my home city and the only DING I saw today to Orlando was that Louisville trip that you posted that expires at 6pm. I haven't seen any DINGs past February either.

I just changed my home city to Orlando...about 5 minutes ago. I just this minute received the DING posted by boswellnakia that expires at 8pm tonight.

I'm glad you pointed this out......

tinkerbellmagic - when you get a ding box there is a place up above the message box that says "Update Registration." Click on that link and it will take you to change your home airport.

Thanks to CarolynNC and clkelley for telling us to change our home airport to MCO. I did, and just like speedyf, I began receiving more dings for MCO that were beyond Feb 28. Thanks everyone for the info and help.

The way the system works it really doesn't matter what you designate your home airport unless you fly out of multiple airports. I fly out of only one airport, RDU. If a ding is offered for RDU-MCO it will show up in my listing if my home airport is RDU or MCO. There are dings posted which include many airports which are sent to most subscribers. There are also targeted dings which are sent to limited markets. Those extra dings you see posted for MCO are targeted. That's why you don't see them if your route is not included. These are the dings which usually have the extended dates.

I keep RDU as my home airport because I like to travel to other places. I don't want to miss a great ding from RDU that isn't MCO. I set up the backdoor for RDU to use when checking at work. I also set up a backdoor for MCO so I could help post those dings in the history of dings thread.

I just want people to be aware even if you change your home airport to MCO that doesn't mean your route will show up more frequently. You will just be able to see all the dings for MCO. Clear as mud, huh!

I get what you're saying CarolynNC - you explained it very well.
My problem (which is a good one to have) is that I have two airports I can fly out of that services SWA. I live directly in the middle of Nashville and Birmingham, so I had BHM as my home airport, but I was afraid I might be missing one for BNA. It just makes me feel better to see all the dings for MCO so maybe I won't miss one. I'm also happy to learn why some were seeing dings beyond Feb 28 (which was my main question). Thanks again for the info and for clearing that up.
