why am i not excited?

Don't worry, you'll have an amazing time!!! I think (without wanting to sound too cheesy, lol) the 'magic' will hit you all of a sudden and from then on you'll be happiness personified!!

On our trip last year we went to NY first and the night before we were due to leave NY for Florida, we weren't as excited as I thought we'd be, we were all sad to be leaving NY. I got upset then because I thought "my God I've ruined the magic of Disney World by doing NY first" but believe me that didn't last, not at all! We got to our resort and it's as if it hit all of us all of a sudden and we were suddenly ecstatic and talking non-stop about our plans and I lost count of how many times each of us said "I can't believe we're here!!!". Then we strolled through Downtown Disney and it was just, well, sheer MAGIC!!!

I plan to a crazy extent and maybe you do too *but* that will stand to you. Perhaps right now it's diluting things a bit but that won't carry over to your holiday at all!! The magic will hit you ever stronger!!!

those carriage rides look lovely, which one did you do, and owuld it be good for kids? or is it just a romantic evening thing?

I'm not sure you would notice a difference at the moment...

The mini golf at Winterland/Summerland is great. We are going to try Fantasia Gardens this trip as well.

A few trips ago we had a really great late afternoon/evening at Ft Wilderness. We took the boat over from the MK, rented a couple of water mice, walked around the main area a bit then had a great dinner at Trails End. It's a lovely place.

When we went in 1999 I planned so much that when we arrived it was an anti climax just worried that everything goes ok for everyone else.

Since then we tend to organise a few things and the rest is as it happens and yes we do miss out on doing stuff but always have a chilled time.

The problem is you tend to book a WDW holiday at least 12 months in advance so you have longer to plan and talk about it.but so many people n the DIS have the same problem, but we all end up having a fantastic time .

When you get there you will have a ball, have a great time.

This happened to me this year. We were having a Disney world wedding and I just go so sick & tired of 'Disney' that I just couldnt be bothered anymore.
It soon went away the day we were going.
Now were home I am pining like mad to go back, but hubby says it will be a few years away now.

The carriage rides can be romantic but I would say that children can go on them too. It is fun for anyone who goes on them no matter their age

I would also suggest going on the surrrey bikes if you just want a bit of a break from the parks.

I totally overplanned our April trip I must have been on here and TGM every night for a full year (plus I sell holidays for a living!). Every single day was planned in the finest detail and while we accomplished a lot there were a couple of times that things did not fit in with the plan and I went into total meltdown. I would never ever go to WDW without a plan but would maybe have a bit more chill out time.

I have to say that this has almost taken away some of the magic for me. On our next trip at Christmas I am going to use TGM's touring advice again because it was spot on, but we are going to have a much more relaxed affair.

I reckon I will get excited once we drive to the airport on Boxing Day.

As others have said you probably feel like you have lived the holiday already but once you get off the plane all your hard work will pay off and I'm sure you'll be excited as ever.
