It is time for me to start planning for an upcoming trip with my daughter. We are celebrating her college graduation. Staying at All Star Music.

I don't know why but I am having a hard time deciding which parks to go to what day. As of now the plan is for us to be there August 29 through September 6 although we might cut a day or two from either end since it is a long trip. We usually do 4 park days. I booked during the free dining promotion so we will also have park hopper passes. The plan now if for 8 days at the parks.

Anyone else get like this?

How do you decide what to do each day?

Thank you!

Depends on if you want to take advantage of EMH or not. Are you doing one park each day staying the duration rambo style or are you doing a midday break and a different night park? Sit down meals or QS? What do you expect to accomplish ride wise at each park? When will there be parties ( remember that the Halloween parties start at that time)? SO many factors

We usually go 5 days, so I usually start with MK on our first day, then fill in the other days with the other parks and end with MK.

I will look at crowd calendars and EMHs to try and figure out the order of days 2, 3 & 4.

Then, I will try to get my ADRs for those parks.

Then, when FP day comes, I have a plan for those parks.

Since you are only going 4 days and have hoppers, I would recommend that you put AK and HS towards the end of your trip to help you with the hard to get FPs like FOP & SDD, etc.

Just my .02

With such a long trip I would add park days. It doesn't add a ton to the cost and takes some of the pressure off

We've got the same plans as you, Aug 29-Sep6, 4 days, PH (though we upgraded to the PH+). While we've been there several times before, this time we're going with another family that has only been there once before, and that family had to follow the plans of the group they were with, so we're letting them do most of the picking what they want to do, and letting them have their own schedule, with us just providing some 'experience' for them to tap into.

One of the first things I had them do, was look at the hours for each park, and plan their days according to that. Like, did they want to try to take advantage or EMH, or did they want to avoid the EMH parks due to typically higher crowds. You also need to look into the fact that the Mickey Halloween parties are going on during those days, so they needed to be aware of which days MK would be closing early because of that. You don't want to plan a whole day MK day, only to find out you've gotta be out by 6, when you could have stayed till 9 or 10 if you just picked a different day.

After that, it was planning for downtime, like, don't hit a park for EMH till 11 PM, then try to rope drop another park's early EMH at 8 the next morning. So, instead, we're taking a non park day after an 11 PM EMH, or maybe doing an earlier closing park like AK, the day before hitting another we plan to EMH rope drop.

During party season, I would always pick MK on a party day. They are so much less crowded because lots of people pick the “full” day.
I think you can get more done by 6 with less stress and then go somewhere else for a nice evening vs trying to fight the crowds all day.

As of now we are doing 8 park days. Its just that we usually only do a 4 park day trip.
