Why a FP for MSEP?

First time with new system. We are 60 days out but why do u need a FP for MSEP? We've always just gone and grabbed a spot. :/

We got one last month but it wound up being canceled due to rain. The reason we wanted one was because we have a very busy two year old who cannot sit still for an hour on the sidewalk waiting for a parade. It would've been much easier for us to enter the FP+ viewing area closer to the start of the parade and we wouldn't have had to keep him occupied quite as long. Since the first one got rained out we just stayed and watched the second parade when the park was empty and we were able to grab a spot right on the sidewalk as the parade was passing by. If we were in the park during a less busy time of year we'd probably not get a FP+ for it.

Oh ok. I didn't realize there was a viewing area set aside for it. Wow .. That works for me too. My oldest has high functioning autism and waiting for the parade has always been a struggle. Will deffo be trying for one if these

For September when you arrive you can do that. I think they added it for the busier times of year so you don't need to sit on the sidewalk for an hour just to see the parade. I was unlucky enough to be there on one of those evening (couldn't even walk in the areas the CM's were trying to keep clear.

As part of the new system, they are trig to make it easier for those that know what parade and when to see it without all the planning ahead.
