Whose going on the Wonder, Feb 26th??

When we returned to our stateroom we found goodies in our FE...thanks to our dis friends from Wisconsin!

We had a great time at Castaway Cay! We took our time getting off the ship, basically enjoyed breakfast as most people were lining up to get off the ship. When we headed down to the gangway there was no line! It was about 10:15am and we made our stop to the postoffice. I had written out our postcards the night before so all we needed to do was to buy stamps...when I walked in the postman looked so bored. He had his hand on his chin as if holding his face up. I struck up a conversation with him. He said it had already been a busy morning and pointed to the stack of postcards to be mailed...now I am not sure if that was a weeks worth or just our cruise but the pile was about 5 inches tall! He was telling me that he comes from the main island, Nassau, before DCL even arrives at Castaway Cay. Whatever change I had left from purchasing my postage stamps I gave to him as a tip...and his eyes lit up! "Thankyamam" he says..to me it seemed he was not use to getting tips..

If you took the tram or walked to Serenity Bay then you definetly walked on the runway, which was used back when the island was Gorda Cay...and if you haven't googled Gorda Cay make sure you do so you get to know the history of the island...I will bet you will be very surprised to know just what went on there! lets just say pirates are real and it involved the 'd' word....but if you did see the runway did you notice that CASTAWAY CAY is spelled out all the way down to the end...

I think this little guy had too much sun!

In case you can not see it but right in the middle of the pic on the rock is a crab, fried to death! ick...

We did attend the Pirate Party and the show was awesome as usual. Loved the fireworks and the music that goes with it was perfect...I always look forward to the crepes on Pirate night but this time I tried the turkey leg...it must have weighed 5 lbs! but it was so good...gonna have me another at WDW in April!

I am just checking back in to read your trip report and I see that you haven't completed it yet. Hope your computer problems are fixed. We are going back on the Wonder in 38 days, can't wait.

Hi Kristie-
thanks for the reminder to finish my TR and add more pics...yes I had to get a new computer. And to top that off I had just bought a new camera for that cruise so remembering how to download the pics has not been fun! Once I get them on photobucket I will finish the report. Not sure if it will be this week though as we are heading to WDW on Friday lots to do in the next 4 days..
Have a WONDERful cruise in May...I do remember you telling us that you were cruising in May, I wish I was going too since the Feb trip was pretty low keyed for us being sick the week before and all. Sometimes I just want to escape life's punches and relax on Castaway Cay for weeks on end!
