Whose going in 2013

DS's band goes to FL every other year so 2013 is the trip year. The band director went to Universal over Xmas and wants to take the band to IOA. He loved Harry Potter! So maybe I'll see my son march on Main St or maybe I'll see him march on whatever the street name is at Universal. :confused3 I love HP too so either way I'm going to FL in 15 months.

I went with my high school band for Spring Break in 1994. That was the trip that I met my DH on.

I would love to go to HP when we go, but I'll have to wait and see if can add it. I'm more unsure about the time than the finances.

We were looking at a February 2013 trip.. but October is looking much more likely. (DH just changed companies and it will be a vacation accrual issue.)

Looking to go August 2013, not set on which date yet. Waiting to see where our son goes to college to see when his school year starts :) Let the countdown begin!!!! We are going to try the Yacht club looking forward to being close to Epcot. We also enjoy the Contemporary but trying something different this time :dance3:

We'll be there!!! I finish college in late April or early May 2013 and as a reward, we're all going to WDW!!!

It will be myself, DH, our then 14 year old DD and 9 year old DD. Planning on either May or June but as of right now, we're set on arriving Friday, May 25 and checking out Saturday, June 2.

8 nights at POP!!!

But if I can squeeze blood out of a turnip (convince DH to spend a little more money) I hope to make it at least another night or 2.

What are you in school for? I started working on my elementary education degree back in 2000...here it is 2012 and I'm finally going to see it this fall! :woohoo::yay: For several years, I just had no desire to do it...didn't care. Then my son was born and that changed everything. At 39, I finally decided what I wanted to be when I grew up! :rolleyes1

And our trip in June is my graduation gift to myself just like AuroraSheasMom!

we're in for June 2013 ! this is soooooo awesome that we're finally on a countdown ! I can tell you, I NEVER thought we'd actually get here. We went for our first family trip in 2010 and it's VERY exciting to be getting this close!

Just think, pretty soon we can make dining reservations!! well, not that soon for us.... we can make them in December... but at least I can say I can make them THIS YEAR! :cheer2:

I am getting mine in computer programming. I didn't want to go to school at all. Any time my DH would bring up me going to school, I would tell him that I didn't need a degree to be a stay at home mom. Well our DSs are getting older (14 & 13) and he wants to make sure I have something to occupy my time with once they are grown. Plus if he dies young, I have a way to support myself. He just drove me one day to the school he graduated from and said, "ok, it's either enroll in school or get a job now, you pick". I thought going to school would put off getting an actual job, plus with computer programming I can do it at home in my PJs. He sweetened the deal by dangling what I call the DVC/ AP carrot in front of my nose. He said that once I get a job with my computer programming degree, that we can join DVC and get APs. Then if we want to go to WDW just for the weekend, we can. Our trip is a reminder of what I get if I graduate. I think I'm at about 31/126 credits needed.

That's a great incentive. I got pregnant at 19 so didn't feel like I needed a degree either but when my kids are older maybe I'll try it..

Trying something new is always fun :thumbsup2

Yesterday I decided my first "project" is going to be finding a way to display a LGMH. I didn't wear one lat trip and was so excited the two times I saw them (once on an ECV, but no one was in it and it seemed weird just to hang around and wait ) and another time it was on another woman's backpack in line for sum of all thrills :thumbsup2 So fun to see DISers out and about in our element ;) Our September countdown group had buttons but I didn't get one because they were sooo tiny. I think I might go get some LGMHs and experiment. I mean I have a year to do this so no excuses..

We were married at 19, and we didn't think we needed degrees at all. My DH and I are the same age. I was born in January and my DH in March of 1976. We had our first child at 21 and I turned 23 two days after having our 2nd. My DH decided after having kids, and doing the fast food manager thing, that he wanted a degree in networking and communications management. He got his bachelor's, and then one master's, and is 1 class short of his 2nd master's. He isn't going to go back for the last class b/c we would have to pay out of pocket for it, and it's a super hard class. Plus, since he's self employeed now, he really doesn't have to have an MBA. Luckily, the school that I go to is very flexible. There are a lot of on line classes. Then the classes that I have to go to school for, only meet once a week for 8 weeks.

We are planning our 2013 trip to be in Oct. about 638 days from now.

We are a family of 5 but my oldest is getting married:hug: and by the time we leave my middle DD will be in her second year of collage.:surfweb:

It looks like it will be myself, DH and DS, we are planning to stay at POR for 8 nights.:cool1:

My DH and DS want to go to Islands of Adventure for one day. That will leave me by myself for the Food and wine Fes. :worship:

So heres to count downs!:woohoo:

How funny is it that so many of us have school in common?? My trip next year will also be a graduation present to myself except I graduate this summer and hopefully get a job right away so I can save up for a trip next year

We have decided...going back to the WORLD....we will be there Sat. Jan.26th-Fri. Feb. 2nd I cannot wait. It will be my son Eli's 2nd trip and my son Ben Henry's 1st trip. Ben Henry is a HUGE Mickey fan!! Know we just have to make a decision of where to stay LOL

Even though we already have two trips planned for this year I'm also thinking ahead to 2013 to celebrate my 30th birthday. We're thinking sometime in April to catch Flower and Garden. It'll be here before we know it!

We will be heading back in Dec 2013 as well!

I hope to squeeze in a quick trip before then later this year (would love to go to MNSSHP)

Glad to see others planning for 2013! We just got back in September and agree we want to wait to go back when the Fantasyland expansion is (mostly) done and also to check out Christmas time at WDW. So, we've decided on November/December 2013. But I'm having trouble picking a week when crowds will be tolerable, we were spoiled with going in September. Here are my concerns...

Thanksgiving falls on Thursday November 28th this year, which is incidentally the last week of November. The week after is first week of December which is usually Pop Warner week, which means the usual slow week after Thanksgiving is possibly non-existant in 2013. If Pop Warner remains the same, is it safe to say the week after Thanksgiving 2013 will be packed? I think it would also mean no free dining this week, since Pop Warner week is usually blacked out. Although, I guess it's possible Pop Warner will push their tournament back a week since it's the week after Thanksgiving?

Also, how much more crowded should we expect end of 2013/early 2014 to be since the Fantasyland expansion is expected to be mostly done, if not completely open by then? Wasn't sure if that time of year would even have a "slow week".

I'm stressing about this way too early

We are having the same concerns, and I am stressing way too early about it too!

I did look up historical dates for Pop Warner, and in 2002 the calendar was exactly the same as in 2013 for November/December. Thanksgiving was on the 28th, and Pop Warner in 2002 was Dec 8-14. SO...my plan/hope is to go the week between Thanksgiving & Pop Warner - Nov 30 - Dec 7.

BUT...that being said I did read on **************.net that they are anticipating Pop Warner to be that first week of December (but it says "always first week of December" which, according to my research isn't accurate really). I am not sure if they are just guessing or have true knowledge of this...as I have tried everything I could think of and can't find the actual dates this far in advance anywhere. My best guess was to look at the historical dates.

SO, with a wish and a prayer and hopefully some pixie dust pixiedust: we are PLANNING right now on being there the first week of December - but being flexible if need be and may change once the Pop Warner dates are released (not because of crowds really because we've been there during PW before, but because we are staying onsite this time and would LIKE our best chance at a possible free dining or discount, which wouldn't happen PW week).

Good luck in planning!! I am already WAY too excited! :yay:

We are planning November 2-9, 2013. Historically, it looks like that won't be a free/discounted dining week but that's okay. We went in 2010, from November 6-13th and the crowds were minimal!!!

It's nice to know that I'm not all alone in my planning and stressing this early out!!!!
