who's tried online reservations?

Has anyone been brave enough to submit their ressie request through the DVC website? Do you hear back the next day? Have you had success? :scratchin
 
I did and was disappointed. at 9AM EST, 11 months out, I sent an email requesting a BWV Standard room for a long weekend, 2nd week of December. About 3 days later I got an email back which basically said sorry, but all that was available were preferred views.

I'll really never know if I would have gotten the standard view if I had phoned. I do know that I won't email a request again. I'll always phone until they have a real-time on-line reservation system.
 
I just did this and I am so pleased. I sent my online requests in two Sundays ago. The next day I received an email saying they would review my request and get back to me within 3 business days. By Wednesday my reservation was already posted on the member website and I received a follow up email. I received my official confirmation letter yesterday in the mail. I was shocked it was so easy since we wanted a room for Christmas week.
 
Happy here. I requested October 4 night Thurs.-Sun. AK-KV Studio. I was told previously by MS that it would be hard because of the FWF and that everything fills up soon. But we got our 1st choice. Requested Thurs. evening had an answer by Sat. morning.
 

I requested a 7 night stay at Kindini in November at 11 month window (roughly) in a dedicated 2 bedroom and heard within 48 hours that I had got exactly what I wanted!!!!:thumbsup2
 
Just wondering if you can place an online request before the 9 am opening time for the phone lines? Since technically the day starts at 12 am can I submit my request at 12:01?
 
I've made a few reservations online -we did a 2-night pre-cruise and a 1-night post-cruise online this January. We got SSR for the pre- nights (first choice) and VWL for the post- night (first choice) :cool1: .

We also just made a reservation for another family at AKV - 6 nights, savanah room in late July. We got their first choice of dates, but in Jambo (I believe my husband requested Kidani first). They're happy with it either way. :)

We *did* call to make our week-before-Christmas-week reservation, as well as our HHI GV this summer - if we know we need something specific at a popular time, we'll call, but if it's not as important, or a lower season, we'll certainly email again. In those cases, if email doesn't work, we'll call and can probably work *something* out. :)

I have used it, and had no problems. If you are booking a particulay busy time, or want rooms that have a very limited supply (standard view BWV, AKV Concierge) I would definitely call.
 
I have been told that the on-line email requests are not a priority, the phones are.

As Chuck stated, if you are requesting a standard reservation on-line requests work fine. Limited availability and multiple contract requests should be phoned in.
