Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed his show (although I would personally give the Dueling Pianos nod to James and Greg, circa fall 2001) but has this horse been beaten enough?

Am I the only one?

Hey LLoyd~
I've never been on a cruise and I was looking forward to seeing DP, now looks like I won't be able to. I had heard so much about Fidelo, I really wanted to see the show.

Now, if you had started a poll about who's tired of hearing about a certain "cancelled cruise", I'm sure you'd get a tremendous response - that poor horse has been beaten over & over!!!

Lloyd,
I applaud the "Fidelio Gang's" enthusiasm, but I think it's time to face reality. Disney knows very well the popularity of their various venues and wouldn't cancel a popular program. On my six cruises I have never seen a crowd in Dueling Piano's, and the couple of times I tried it myself I found it minimally enjoyable. I even remember finding space on the edge of my last cruise survey to recommend letting it go. The last time we attended there were about 20 people and that was down to about 10 when we left half way through the performance. Quite honestly, the enthusiasm of the Fidelio Gang on this board is greater than that seen at the show. Even the latest thread trying to keep the show continually drops off of page one for lack of interest, only to be resurrected by the same posters.
Time to let go, gang.

I received the following e-mail message this morning, thought this would be a good place to post it. Don't bother asking who sent it to me, I'm not revealing my source.

Andy - The entertainment on the ship will always continue to evolve. Dueling Pianos was here for awhile and some day it may come back, but we believe the other changes we are making will be better for a larger number of guests. So, we always listen - but in this case there are many others that wanted us to try other things.

Personally, I never get tired of hearing about or listening to Fidelio!

Guess it's a matter or taste.

Do you know how to use the IGNORE function on this site? It's a cleaver little feature that will allow you to ignore the postings of anyone who tends to irritate or annoy you.

IT works!

FIDELIO ROCKS!

Now, boys, we promised we wouldn't reveal that pink folder!!!
Ohhh, now DH is humming one of the songs to me.....ahhh!!!

Some people like Vanilla, some people like chocolate.
Nuts, no nuts.... and so on.

Eh, I just skip by all the threads that don't interest me.
Just skip pass all the clicks on the board and try to help newbies out. That's what I do, when I get the chance to get on line and check in here.

So I picture you, Lloyd, holding up your stereo,
"in your eyes".......... I just LOVE that scene! And the one where he offers her father her pen!

Oh, back on topic: We walked out after about 20 minutes.... whatever it took to finish our drink. Glad to know there will be changes

I think the tally overwhelmingly tells the tale...

DH and I stopped to listen to the dueling pianos on our first Magic cruise, stayed only long enough to finish the drinks we ordered. We were not impressed at all and there was a very, very small crowd. Never even went in on our second cruise. I am very glad they are making some changes.

I am a big fan of Dueling Piano's but to make it great, you have to have a crowd, and in 3 Disney Cruise's I have never seen a crowd for dueling Piano's half the time, it's just a couple of tables of people. I started going to the family show, since half the time the adult show was empty! There are more crew members in the club then guests. The musicans are talented, but I can understand DCL making changes, it just doesn't have wide appeal and it's not nearly as fun as other dueling pianos I have been to--just not enough people. Great concept, great location just no people. It's like the ESPN club.

Now if you want great dueling pianos, Jellyrolls at Disney's Boardwalk is the place to go.

The musicians were very talented and fun, but there were never any people in there on our 2 cruises. The last time we went in, had a drink & no one else was there the entire time. It felt too wierd & we left...

I think they tried to duplicate "Jellyrolls" atmosphere at the Boardwalk, but it never caught on... I agree, you need a big crowd to make it fun!

It's nice that many of you did have a great experience!
