Who's the guy in the sky?

We saw him 9/25. He appeared to be flying over Main Street, or at least that is where we saw him from. It was weird - spoiled the whole 'turn of the century' experience. If we had been at any other park I don't think it would have struck me as weird. Please note - I am not saying that the guy writing the messages is weird. It was just a weird thing to see from from Main St.

 You can count me in as one of those "freaks!" too!

Happy and proud to be a part of THAT club :thumbsup2

Proud family of Jesus "freaks" here!!! :grouphug:

Awesome! I love it! I wish I had seen it -- I definitely would have taken some great pics. Thanks to those of you who shared your wonderful pictures of this skywriting! :thumbsup2

Yes, I think I would also use the word "freak". Or perhaps "nutjob". I don't need Jesus shoved down my throat when I am trying to enjoy WDW. Too bad gas prices are going down.

Wow! Never thought of writing in the sky as having "Jesus shoved down my throat". Guess I read the message--any message--and walk on. Have seen lots of sky writing when we are in various parts of Florida. Also have seen planes pulling those long banners. Never thought much of it. :confused3

Just another "freak" here.

We saw it!

I'm not Christian and don't plan to be.

But it was nice to see my son so excited to see sky-writing. I think it's the first time he's seen it.

I really feel there's no harm done.

Although I can't relate to the Christianity part, I can completely relate to feeling so strongly about something. And wanting to spread a message to the world. :cloud9:

Big ole Jesus freak here. I guess having religious beliefs makes me a freak-gee, I thought most of the country is very religious.Hey,wait a minute,if I'm with the majority, then I'm not the freak. After all isn't a freak something out of the ordinary or abnormal? :thumbsup2
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Jesus :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

When I am at Disney World I don't want to see anything else. I would consider this the same as an advertisement. I hope it is stopped before my next trip.

Interesting... Disney is restricted airspace that you have to get special clearance to fly over, so I'm kinda surprised someone has been able to do this repeatedly.

Just FYI, the restricted airspace law is only applicable UNDER a certain altitude, which is EXTREMELY low. So low that many in the gov't claimed it was nothing more than a way to give WDW guests a false sense of security.

Also, if an aircraft wants to go below the altitude barrier, all they need to do is get clearance from Air Traffic Control. Disney's no fly zone is not a "HARD ZONING".

I seriously doubt that.

Without starting a debate, but to get to the point, Christians believe in sharing the Gospel or planting seeds and getting the word to as many as possible - if you live in Florida, where else could you sky-write to ensure ten thousands upon ten-thousands of people see it?? :thumbsup2 Makes a lot of sense to me. :goodvibes

I agree completely. I went to the guy's site and everything on there is positive. What I hate is when Christians start finger pointing at everyone. However, that's not the true belief of Christ. Just as in the Muslim faith there are radicals, as we know, there are in every religion.

What I find amusing is, those who sit on here calling people who are Christians nutjobs and freaks are the same one's who preach patience and understanding for other religions and sexual orientation and then turn around and lump all christians into one basket and toss personal attacks at them.

Maybe it's me but that's pretty hypocritical.

Also, just FYI to those who love to attack guys like this.......please always remember.....many people turn to religion when something bad happens in their lives (regardless of which religion it is). Before attacking guys like this, just look and see exactly what he's saying. If it's not a hate message, a finger pointing message, and stays positive, then you need to be more understanding. Who's to say this guy hasn't lost a child or something like that traumatic which has made him determined to get out the message that he's after?

I guess I'm the only person reading this thread who expected to see "surrender Dorothy" written in the sky closely followed by flying monkeys.

I saw the sky writer over Universal last month and that is the first thing that I thought of!

LOL, I've thought that when I've seen him too. Of course it is one of my favorite movies, so I guess I would think that! :rotfl2:

Regardless if you believe in God or Jesus (which I do) or not, why does it make some uncomfortable if to see a message of peace or love? Do you really believe that people who trust in God are "nutjobs"? That really hurts me and my family :guilty:

No. I'm saying that a man whose hubris about his own God and religion is so great that he feels that ne needs to "share" it in such a way that makes it hard for people who do not share his religion to ignore is a "nutjob".

madfordonald said:
The message doesn't hurt you, doesn't aim to harm you mentally and I would think it would be comforting to know that "if" there is a God, he still cares for me even if I didn't believe in him. Is that so bad? :confused3
:rotfl2:You have no clue.

The God and Jesus skywriting does "mentally harm" me. It makes me angry and it takes me out of the Disney "magic". I am allowed to want my Fantasyland of WDW unsullied by aircraft and religious dogma.

Knock your socks off. Just don't come to my house will a bull horn or write in in the sky!

Regardless of the message, on a clear, blue day skywriting is nothing more than high altitude graffiti. That said, there's nothing more American than the right to express your opinions with the aim of convincing others, unless it's the American right to blow such people off.

The restrictions don't cover all of WDW. I am sure he is not violating any laws. In fact, he may not actually be above WDW at all.

When we lived closer to WDW, we'd see him above our apartment complex all the time.

You really should be ashamed of yourself, but you did show once again exactly where people like Robin and I coming from. :sad2:

Things like that are not allowed, or should not be allowed, because on any given day the message could be different and you would be the one complaining on what you or your kids saw.
