Who's sailing Jan 17, 2004 seven day Magic?

There is as much as a seven day difference in the counters all of you are using. What is upo with that? How many of you have cruised DCL in January? I am curious about your weather experiences.

I have not cruised in January, but I have searched the web for weather. The average temps. are rather warm. From what I have read that other people said...it can be anywhere from really warm to cold!! I guess it is a lot of luck. I can bet that the nights will be rather cool... when we cruised in August...it was cool outside at night. I am hoping for the best!

Hurray!!! We got our excursion stuff today. Another thrill on the way to our cruise. Too bad there isn't anything in there I didn't already know thanks to the boards.

Yes, we are getting closer, aren't we! Our cruise will be here before you know it! We are driving to Florida on January 14th (and into the 15th), so we're under 2 months already. We plan on hitting the Parks on the 15th and 16th before heading to the Magic on the 17th. Anyone else doing this? We're getting new park-hoppers before this trip, so we'll have a few days left on them after this trip - sounds like another Disneyworld vacation in the near future! Our DDs are getting excited! I think they have an idea of what it will be like, but I'm guessing we're all in for some GREAT surprises!

We also plan to get there a day early, not taking any chances with a New York winter storm, we plan on going to Universal on the 16th (renewing our annual passes for 99.00) then driving over to the port and spending the night before at the Radisson.

hello! We are new here...this is our first cruise ever...1/17/04...Can't wait! 6 of us going...my husband, 2 daughters (ages 6 & 11), and my parents. Unfortunately, my DW and I had to cancel our cruise for this year, primarily for economic reasons.

We're from the Pottsville, PA area. We're also on deck 6 (forward), and we have 2 inside cabins. We have 3 daughters (ages 11, 8, and 3). We've cruised before, but this is our first Disney cruise. Since there are 5 of us, and since the cost of the cruise is fairly substantial (esp. with 2 cabins!), we'll be going light on the excursions. We're thinking of hitting the beaches at every stop, and doing minigolf on Cozumel.

Hello Thumper7796- Welcome aboard. It's our 1st cruise too. Our kids are 11 yr. old daughter, and 9 yr. old son. We are also on deck 6- rm 6106. Where are you staying the night before? We booked a room at the Radisson at the port for the evening before the cruise, I think there are a few others here doing it too.

Welcome Thumper-- We are also on deck 6--6066 and 6064. I have two DDs (almost 11 and one that turned 7 yesterday!!). We should definitely have them meet on the ship.

I tried to get my DD10 to exchange emails with a few other kids going on this cruise. She sent out a few intro email but there wasn't much interest, probably because it was so far away. Maybe now we should get the kids to try and connect again.

We have sailed twice in January and twice in Feb. and the weather has been fantastic every time.

We are also staying at the Radisson the night before and once I finish a big work project next week I will have some time to put together a list of all of us staying there!! It will be so great to meet everyone and put some faces to your names--screen names that is!!

Any ideas for a DIS meet on board??

I have just finished creating a list of everyone that has posted that they are going to be on this cruise!! It is very impressive and I can't wait to put some faces to your names!!

I will try to organize it a bit better and then email it to those of you that are interested. Please post or email (vicshap@aol.com)me your names, hometown, stateroom, early/late seating and the names and/or ages of your kids and anything else that might be interesting!! (Gretel did this last time for our cruise and it was great to have--thanks gretel!!) We have over 20 families so far!!!

I am also making a list of those of us staying at the Radisson. Please let me know if you are planning to stay there and would like to meet at the pool the night before!! Should be a great time.

I am getting sooooooo excited for this trip. The weather man just forecast 6-12 inches of snow for this weekend...ugh

Hello again MNmom- We're here, we're here. I guess you don't realize how busy life is until you try and find time to answer posts or e-mail about your vacation. DH saw the new commercial for DCL and says that is exactly what he hopes to do on board and on shore, REST. As long as he doesn't mind me roaming the ship and shore with credit card in hand and without his voice of reason behind me, then it's o.k. with me. As I posted somewhere before it will be me Sandra, DH Mark, DD 11, and DS 9, stateroom 6106, early seating, staying at Radisson. We're from Long Island, N.Y. and would be interested in a meet by the pool and maybe one on ship for those not staying at the Radisson. Please e-mail me your list when completed. I'll try to get on my kids to start e-mailing again.

Has anyone heard about the filming of a sitcom on our cruise?????

I just got an email from Dreams Unlimited that stated they have been informed from DCL that a nationally televised ABC sitcom will be shooting on the 1/17 Magic sailing

They go on to say that they will do their absolute best to keep the disruption to a minimum for their guests.....yada, yada.

We think this is very exciting and can't wait to find out what show it is and who will be on the ship with us!!! We are not ones to be inconvenienced by something like this and think it will just add to our adventure. The kids might even get a kick out of the production of a show like this. Should be very interesting to see.

2 Years ago we did the 7 day Eastern in January.....Gretal and family were with us! They were suppose to go with us again this year....but they are not....We will sure miss them!!!!

Anyways...it will be me (Cyndi) my DH was suppose to go but can't get out of work. So my friend and her DD will be traveling with us this time. Both of our DD's will be turning 16 during the cruise!

MNmom....I am from MN. as well! I did meet a few Disers with Gretal...but I didn't correspond with anyone.

Is there anyone that is going have older children?
We will be staying at the Radisson the night befor...let me know if there is a meet. We won't be getting there until later. Our flight comes in at 7:00pm

Hey MnMom!!!

Sorry we won't be making the cruise this time. We had such a blast last time on the Golden Eagle Catamaran!!!! My girls still talk about it!

We bought a new house about a year ago, and financially just can't afford to go............we are hoping for Dec 2005 over xmas break.............My oldest will be a senior in high school then and I asked her if she wanted to go to Hawaii or on the Magic, and since she is not a good flyer she chose the seven day Western.

Everyone have a rip roaring time and I will be thinking about you!!!

My family will be on this cruise, our 2nd Disney cruise!! My DD will almost be (2 weeks shy) 13. My DS will be 11. We will also be staying at the Radison on the 16th. Same thought about the weather, we are coming from Maryland.

Please let me know if you are all getting together that night. It would be nice to meet some people before the cruise starts.

DizC1288- Hello fellow MNan!! Looking forward to a little warm sunshine on my bones. My kids have been sledding all week but I just haven't gotten into it yet this year...maybe after the cruise!!

Disneynut02- We have about 8 families staying at the Radisson. We will definitely plan to meet at the pool the night before. It is a great area to hang out and meet!!

I have been collecting the names of everyone that has contacted me. We have quite a list --but keep the info coming!! I will take names and other info for about one more week before I put it all together and send it out. Our family booked the 1020 Dolphin Encounter through DCL and are very excited to be going
Anyone else?? Actually, my DH and DD(10) are going on the Royal Swim through Dolphin Discovery and the rest of us are on the Encounter. We will then spend the day at Chakanaab. I can't wait!!

Hi Thumper!!! We are flying out of Harrisburg with a layover in Philadelphia (it was actually cheaper than flying directly from Philadelphia - -who knew!!). We are leaving on the 15th.

We have all of our excursions scheduled. My husband is looking forward to the Jeep thing in Cozumel. I can't wait for Key West...oh hey...I can't wait for it all!!!!!

With the Holiday season upon us...it will be mid January before you can even say...DISNEY MAGIC!!!
