It's been a ton of fun reading all the posts for the last months preparing for the cruise. I'm not able to attend the DisMeet, so I may not get to meet any of you on board, but I want to thank you all and the Dis board in general for all the great information. I especially have enjoyed the 12 days of Cruisemas. I'll do my best to post a trip report when I return.
FYI: I read on MousePlanet that for 2 weeks following the premiere of Cars on board the
DCL ships, guests will receive commemorative buttons and trading cards. That will include us - pretty cool, eh?
My family leaves Raleigh, NC on Friday afternoon and will be meeting the rest of our extended family in Orlando for an overnight stay at the airport Hyatt. I guess we'll be leaving first thing Saturday morning from the airport to head to the port. I can't wait - this has been even more exciting than the last couple of trips to WDW. It's my first cruise of any kind.
Only things I still need to reserve are a Palo brunch and Palo tea - I'm hoping we can get this on board, since they haven't been available from the first time I checked online. I'm also hoping to change my Palo dinner. It's currently on Sunday, and I'd like to move it later in the week, so as not to miss out on the first 3 days of rotational dining. Any suggestions on the best night?
Just last week, I saw that a Dolphin excursion at Cozumel had become available. Not sure if this was new or if someone's cancellation made it available, but this is something DW had really wanted, so I jumped on that for her and DD-10. BTW, this is not actually at Cozumel; it's on the mainland and requires a ferry ride and a bus ride to get there. Probably 2.5 hours of travel time altogether, but that's the one excursion, DW really wanted when we first were looking, so she's willing to put in the travel time.
Let's all hope and pray the tropical weather cooperates. Alberto should be out of the way in a couple of days, but who know what else is to come. Hopefully, this season will not be so devastating as last year, especially for those places that got hit so hard in 2005 - I can't imagine how bad it would be to get hit 2 years in a row like that.
