Who's in for May 2013 code watch?

I was stalking the June 2013 thread but we think we might be going the last weekend in May so now I'm adding this thread to my stalking list too LOL

I really hope they come out with some free dining discounts....we're used to that discount. Although, we'll be traveling for my oldest daughters high school graduation and not with all our kids so it would be nice to stay deluxe with a % off code too.

Can't wait to see what comes out

Not sure if anyone has seen this but apparently UK residents have already been provided with a free dining offer for 2013 that with select dates from Jan 1 - March 19 and April 7th - Dec 8. We are going in May for my daughters birthday and hope this becomes available for us as well.

I can't post the link because I don't have enough posts but it is on the virgin holiday website.

Why does the UK get discounts before the US? Seems to me they would get it at the same time... Just curious.

what type of free dining? Is it Qs at value and DDP at mod and deluxe?

UK always seems to get it first....probably because they need more time to plan, save or work around holidays? I really wish they'd go ahead and release all of 2013's for the US too. I could book our June trip and our next October trip LOL

Quick question though... I researched the UK free dining that was released and why do they get so much in their pkg? I realize it said for a 2 week stay so maybe they have to stay 2 weeks to get it, I dunno... but it just seems like they get so much more than US residents. They get an extra qs meal along with their dining plan pkg, $100 gift card, and they get 14 day park tickets for the price of 7 and it says it's unlimited so does that mean it's like a park hopper? That's awesome! But it does come with a big price tag. Maybe they give the UK residents those extras so they come for the full 2 weeks.

I haven't been able to find out any info about if there are any blackout dates. The 14 day tickets aren't a new thing for UK residents but the 14 for 7 is a pretty good offer. I think part of the reason it is offered is that they often stay for at least two weeks to make the flight worth it but also they are likely to spend a little bit more due to the higher value of the british pound.

The info I saw on the website said the free dining was only available for mod or higher.

they always get their offers before the US I assume so they can coordinate flights and such. I don't think the US dates fall into the same dates as theirs all of the time. Their FD is only on Mod or Deluxe never on Value so don't go based on their deals as to what the States will get.

A new Fall offer was just released and it includes dates after a portion of the new Fantasyland opens. Hopefully, we are one step closer to having something offered for our May dates.

Dumb question, but with all this talk of the UK site, is there is a site specifically for Canadians to book rooms/get discounts? Or are we free to do so through the US site?

Its funny people mention that the UK people get the early discounts because they have to coordinate flights, its more expensive etc, because that applies to some Canadians as well! My airfare is going to double the cost of my Disney trip

I have absolutely no clue how accurate this would be, but when I called and booked our AoA stay last night, I made sure to ask the (very nice and personable) CM on the line if free dining or any other discount came out, I would be able to call and apply it to my package if I were eligible.

He told me yes, that would be no problem at all. He then said that if any free dining came out for my dates (May 4 through 11th) it would probably be in January or February, so to keep a close watch during those times.

Like I said, no idea if he was right, because I know sometimes CMs can have conflicting information, but thought I'd pass it along.

There really is no method to Disney's code releases some times....so I'd watch every month up until your vacation if you're really wanting to add a discount code. I know one year they released fall free dining a full year in advance for the general public.....not sure what was going on that year LOL

Does anyone know what the room only discount for a moderate was for May 2012? 20%, 30%??? And did it include dates around Memorial Day?

Mousesaver's site says 5%-30% for those dates in 2012 so I'm guessing that Moderates were 20% if the max discount during those time frames was 30% (which probably was the Deluxe category).

I think the dates were April 13 – May 24 and May 28 – June 14, 2012 for the bigger discount (20-30%) then for May 25-27, 2012 the discount went down to 15-30% it was a 5% decrease except for SSR and OKW which stayed 30% all the dates

we are booked WL may 4-11 full pkg with dxdp. We are waitng also to see if some good DELUXE discounts come out. we would switch for 20% or better......4 adult adults so that effects all portions of our ressie.

normally no FD during that period.
