There are excursions listed as Family excursions have a look at the. They would be kid friendly.

We aren't doing a lot of shore excursion through DCL this time, we are booking them on our own. We did do the perfumer's apprentice last time and it was fun in Villefranche. We got to go a beautiful town called Eze and made our own perfume. We did a tour in Malta with DCL (just an overview of the city). Our guide wasn't very good, so I don't know if everyone didn't like it or just us. In the other ports we did things on our own or with private tour guys. We also went to Naples last time, there were a lot of good excursions there.

I guess I missed something. Why are you set on this particular cabin?

Wew are set on 6116 because it's our favorite cabin - we love the layout, the location, the easy way to remember the number. We've sailed in 6116 on our first Med, on the Baltic, and on a surprise Christmas cruise on the Magic, and we sailed in 6116 on the Wonder in Alaska. We have 6116 booked for the second part of our B2B for this summer, but she was not available when we booked this one opening day, so we are in 6114 which we've since discovered is actually a connecting cabin to 6112. We haven't sailed in a connecting cabin before, but that has nothing to do with why we'd like to move - we'd like to be in 6116 so we don't have to move for the 2nd cruise, and because it is our preferred cabin.

The link is above...just make sure to share info in both places:wave2:

I sent my request (Cindy D). I'll also add the link to my June 15 Cruisers list that I keep in my sig line so it will be convenient for any new folks we get who join.

HavinABlast, welcome - and if you want to add yourself to the Roll Call spreadsheet, the links to it are also in the same link in my sig.

Just submitted my request to join the Facebook group. Also, for those of you who have sailed the Mediterranean (or any sailing longer than the 7-nights) with Disney previously, was there more than one formal/semi-formal night? Also, what was the schedule of shows? Did they have the "big" shows on sea days? Wondering if our late dinner seating and longer days in ports will force us to miss any of our favorite shows. Thanks! ~Charlene

Charlene. On the 10 day on 2010 we had one formal and one semi formal night. They did have bigger shows on sea days however we only had 2 sea days. We had late dinner and saw all the shows we wanted to.

We have been on several more than 7 nights and always had second seating for dinner and never missed a show so that should not be a problem. Elsewhere in this thread someone had called DCL and got formal and semiformal nights I believe there is one of each. On our Baltic in 2010 we had one formal and two semiformal. sue

Maybe you could arrange a private tour to come pick you up at the ship and bring you back - just as you might do in one of the other ports? We were wondering what we might do on our switch-day, too - but as we've never done a B2B and we'll have had time in BCN pre-cruise and a day when we get back, we thought we might just enjoy the B2B experience and see what happens (while we stay onboard and nearly everyone else leaves).

Have any of you ever done B2B? What's it like on switch day?

We've thought about hanging at the pool that day, just to have a chill day, cause we also have some pre-cruise time in Barcelona, but we'll see.

We did back 2 back LA to Vancouver then Vancouver to Alaska in 2011. You have to get off the ship but can wait until everyone is off and then get back on before the new passengers. From what I understand in FL you dont even have to get off the ship so I do not know how it is handled in Barcelona. You could call DCL and ask. Some folks for Alaska got off in Vancouver and saw the sights making sure they were back on the ship by 3 to make the 4 muster drill.

Wow, I thought everyone had to get off. Who knew? How do they handle food that day, is stuff open if you stay on board?

I hear you on that, we did NOT want to switch between cruises. We're in 8530 and 8528 on both cruises. My husband realized that is the smoking side and tried to change to 8030, but it was only open on one of the cruises so we just settled with 8530 to avoid switching between.

I posted all the nights a few pages back, you could search for that. What sort of shows do you mean? There's some sort of show every night, but you shouldn't have to miss any of them.

I was thinking that after the pools are clean and opened again, I might go hang out at the adult pool. We don't usually get in the pools during cruises but this might be a good summer day to do it!

I've read mixed reports about being required to get off or not - but if you do have to get off, you can get back on pretty quickly - they say there will be a letter in our cabins the night before to tell us what to do.

I've read that they have food available sometimes in the Promenade Lounge area until they open the buffets for the new guests - and some stuff up in the Cove Cafe area. We will probably be so full still from the first cruise that we won't care about eating that day :)
