It sounds like there may be quite a few of us doing Cinque Terre on our own that day... perhaps we can put together a good plan / instructions through all of our research for the various ways to go visit the area and what to be sure to see / do while there (and costs and timetables for making sure we get back on time). The DCL excursion sounds lovely but it is a bit prohibitive in cost for four of us (if it were just two of us, we'd likely just do it with them, but double the cost and we'll pass).
We loved the Jumping Back to Eternal Rome excursion in 2007. The only part that was tricky for us was that there was an extra DCL cast member who joined and made the numbers off, so our family got stuck having to be separated on the train over, and then at the lunch, we didn't get to sit with the rest of the excursion group because the way the other guests sat, there was one seat here, one seat there, and two seats left over - but our kids were too young to put on their own even at the lunch. Blech. But the tour of Rome itself was awesome - our guide was excellent. Be sure to toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain - we did, and look - we're going back to Rome! For us, we wanted to be sure to see the inside of the Colloseum and not spend the whole day at the Vatican - that's why we chose this excursion.
Oh, Peter Pan was also on the train with us from the port to Rome.

Hi Everyone,
I've been searching for a nice apartment for our precruise stay on HomeAway. I was alerted by one of the property owners that a very large music festival is happening in Barcelona on June 13 - 15. It is called the Sonar Festival, here is the link: http://www.sonar.es/en/2013/
According the property owner, she expects lodging in the city to fill up and she said that the concerts and events for the festival are all near the old town area. I don't know if she was just saying that to justify a higher rate and/or trying to help me out. However, I felt I should share this info with you guys regarding the concerts, just fyi.
take care,
jen
News Flash: RE ITALY
Caught just a bit of this info on the news yesterday, some cities have imposed a ban on eating at various tourist locations in their cities. i.e. Trevi Fountain. The fines start at about E50.
Wow that's pretty interesting. I can't imagine where you would eat there. Didn't see any vendors around and there were so many people. I can imagine littering was becoming a problem.
So Disney called and moved us to the Renaissance or whatever its going to be called. Those who stayed there before how is its location and how is the hotel?

When we booked there was no space left at the Ren guess some opened up so they called and said we could be moved if we wanted so we took it.
Also I booked Rome in Limo for Florence and Rome anyone have experience with them? Reviews looked good
We also booked with Rome in Limo for both La Spezia and Rome... We're doing Pisa, Lucca, and wine tasting in La Spezia and Rome Highlights in Rome. I thought that the reviews were good as well. When we booked there was no space left at the Ren guess some opened up so they called and said we could be moved if we wanted so we took it.
