Who's in for GREECE and TURKEY, June 15 2003????

Just booked! I was swamped at work and just found out today about this cruise - oh well, better late then never :)

This is our third Disney Cruise (Alaska - Klondike Kruisers 2011 & Bahamas 2009). It will be DH Ed and DD Hayley and we will be celebrating her graduation from Law school and Forestry school.

Looks like it will be an amazing trip! Love the itinerary <3

WELCOME.... where are you folks from? We have Canada representive as well as many current and former (like myself) Californians!

I'm wondering if we'll have "media" coverage on board with us? Cruise critic maybe?

Cruise critic was on our Baltic cruise doing a mom/family report daily. We ended up on many of the same shore excursions. It was fun! Sue

Finkerbell - welcome! I found out about the itinerary being out from reading something on another site that sent me running over here - I had been expecting the announcement on Jan. 18th but when that was delayed, I didn't expect it to come that soon afterwards. My TA emailed me from Hawaii (she was on vacation) but thankfully she had already sent all my info to her back-up and told her that as soon as the announcements came out that I would probably have my request in! She was right! I also didn't realize that booking would open the day after the announcement - that was a surprise to me as I figured it would be a week or so - at least a couple of days.

Anyway, it looks like this will be a great itinerary and a great group of DISers, so we're excited to spend the next 16 months planning with y'all!

:welcome: Finkerbell, great way to celebrate!

When the first announouncement was postponed I was also a little concerned (I had already called my TA and put her on standby for our sideways cabin, LOL) but the DISers kept me in the loop and I booked as soon as I could and got a sideways anyway.:goodvibes

Happy day to all!

Hey we were part of the Klondike cruisers as well...It was a great cruise...don't know if we met or not. Welcome!!!!

Our TA told us that air is now available to add for the Med cruises - she'll be contacting DCL to get it added for us today (it's complicated since we're doing B2B and this one is through DVC and the next one is through our TA, but DCL told me what we need to do). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has added air and if so, about what the price was?

We haven't, but we'll be looking into it. Also doing B2B but with the June 8th cruise, so let me know how it works out with you guys. (Though we don't have the DVC complication!)

I have not checked but does anyone know if DCL has the list of hotels out yet? Not sure when we are going to do but like staying at a DCL hotel to check in at the hotel and let DCL take care of our luggage. We feel we have earned not dealing with luggage. DSIS has booked her hotel separate at a Disney hotel but at a lower price than DCL and it has worked well. Sue

Our TA said the hotels were not yet available to add to reservations. We don't mind paying for the hotel / air through DCL because we do like the convenience and "luxury" of not having to worry about the details. Once we get on the plane in ATL, we know the arrangements are all made and someone will be able to help us if we get stuck or delayed. Plus we like to stay in a "fancy" hotel when it's part of a big vacation like this :)

I just finished watching the Cruise Critic's posting of their daily blog for the 11 night Med Cruise. I am reading all I can taking notes and not making any solid decisions until we get a little closer. :surfweb: As our first time on the Med, we have lots of questions that we haven't even thought of asking yet.
In case anyone wants to watch them here is the Cruise Critic's YouTube page (It also has the Baltic on there, too. DL1957, did you get in any of the videos?) They are short and not the same ports but the ones that are the same, it was nice to get a visual of it and someone's impression. I love the fact she keeps saying she really isn't a Disney fan but it seems she really likes the way Disney does it's cruises. :wizard: But then we all knew that! :cloud9:
Later,
Sue

Are you adding hotel with that?? Let us know what they charge, if you will...

We did get in one of their videos at the glass makers at our first port. Saw it when we got back home and I looked at it on line! We were impressed our friends were not!:rotfl2: Sue

Our TA got the airfare rate for us. $1,818 per person.:scared: We had her go ahead and add it since we had worked out how it needed to happen with our B2B and one being a DVC reservation, but we will pretty surely drop it once we're able to book air on our own. At least we have a "top" price now for budgeting purposes. She said hotels were not yet available.

Thanks everyone for the great advice about the carseats (and strollers too). The inflatable one looks like a good option! We are very safety conscious although we have taken Jake on buses/trolleys/etc without any restraint (other than our arms), I would like to be as safe as possible... but the idea of lugging around a car seat that wouldn't even work in the vehicles would not be fun to say the least.

Glad we have so long to plan and figure out all of the details -- and super glad that we have all of you wonderful DCL AND Med veterans to help! These boards are a wonderful resource!

We are soooooo excited for this cruise. It is our first Med cruise and we are thrilled. We will be staying in a hotel in Barcelona, we just don't know if before or after the cruise. I would appreciate any recommendations of hotels not too far from the port for those of you who have been in the area. Can't wait to mingle with you folks on the cruise! :thumbsup2

We are thinking of Scotland before this cruise, will see how plans come together.

In Barcelona we found a nice little hotel in the Gothic area. The street it is on was too narrow for the cab.
