Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

It won't rain all day usually! It seems to hit around 3 or 4 in the afternoon for about an hour. And it's very scattered. It might rain in Epcot, but not at MK.

Good Morning!!!!

Happy Two Weeks Shelly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:cool1::cool1:

I can't believe you can look at the extended forecast already!:cool1:

Isn't there always a chance of rain? And you may not see a drop at all. :upsidedow Regardless-- even if there's gale force winds... and a Hurricanado beating at the door of the resort.....

We're going to Disney World!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

This morning I am really feeling the excitement.:dance3:

Jo - the bags you bought are so cute. I am with Shelly I like Belles bag. Vera Bradley was having a sale and I sent for a travel belt bag(like a fanny pack sorta) for our trip , then today I saw the cutest lil crossbody bag while in KMart so I grabbed it too.

I talked DH into buying one of those alumawallets(as seen on TV) while we were in KMart today, he resisted at first but I reminded him of how in years past his wallet as gotten soaked on certain rides.

I never saw the clip one that you bought for your DH. its really nice.

Hi! It's always nice to have options for the trip as far as bags go. I'm taking both of my cross body bags, and I *might* be trading with Belle for a couple of days depending on what I'm wearing.:lmao:
Jo...love all the bags and clips! My kids and Mike just put their cards all in my small VB wallet.. i am afraid they will lose them anyway! And we only take on CC and then some cash...especially if it's not our souvie day at DTD!!! I think I like Belles bag the best too!! i usually go for the brown stuff more than the black...
 Good idea to hang onto the kids cards. ::yes:: I really don't want to have to try to prove that we had our tix if they lost them. What a nightmare.
DH hates that ride. I'll probably end up taking our kids on it alone in the future. I suppose it will give him time to run across the park to grab FPs.

Your bags are very cute. It's about time for me to get a new Disney/vacation bag. Maybe Coach is the way to go? :rolleyes1

Aww, he hates Pooh? how could you hate Pooh??? :lmao:
I do think Coach is the way to go. ALthough I have seen some cute Michael Kors and Dooney and Bourke cross body bags.

Jo - Love those bags! I'm trying to decide what type of small purse I want to get for the parks.....so I love seeing what every one else gets and what works for them. I'm so done with carrying a backpack if we don't need to.
We never carried a backpack before-- we always just had a stroller that we crammed everything into. I miss those days- but don't miss them at the same time- it really frees you up to moooooove.
Good morning! :goodvibes

Happy 3 WEEKS Jodi!!! :banana::banana::banana:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

:yay::yay::yay:

:dance3:

:cool1: Thanks Shelly!!!

(I totally missed yesterday's countdown. Makes it go by even faster when you miss a day.:lmao:)

If I could be in WDW right now I would be eating at KONA!!!!!!!! YUM. I can't wait to have those Macadamia Nut pancakes.

Seriously. I cannot wait.

Wow I can't believe you're close enough to start checking the forecast!!!

Jo- You're going to look awful silly wearing a mountain dew box for clothing since mountain dew is all you've packed thus far! Although it would be drafty and might help in the heat. Get packing!!!!

Shelly- Love the new scrapbook supplies and your albums! Seeing your pics makes me miss traditional scrapping. I barely have time to digiscrap these days.

You ladies are making me jealous showing all the cute bags for your families. I can't wait until my kids are old enough to carry their own stuff. It's still a stroller and backpack for us.

:lmao: Silly girl--- Shelly's the one that has the Mtn Dew packed. She can't live without it. But I'm sure she'd be able to make a nice dress out of the box since she's so crafty.:rotfl2:

Me, I'm gonna make someone go out and buy me a case of Diet Dr Pepper from the store.
I love Mtn Dew, but I don't drink a lot of it anymore.
I was totally sick when I was PG with Drew and it was one of the only things I could hold down. Go figure.:headache: So I drank it- a lot --- and my FIL refused to buy it for me when we were around them b/c he said it was terrible for the baby. When Drew was born- he came out already holding his head up. We attributed it to the Mtn dew and called him Mountain Drew for the longest time.:rotfl:

Good morning....or I should say good afternoon!

DSis and I drove our youngest kids (25 and 23 ;)) to NOLA this morning to catch a plane to San Francisco. We had to leave here at 5:00, which meant I was up at 4:00 to dress and drive to her house. I felt like I was in Bizarro world being out and about at that hour! Mostly, I was amazed at the traffic on the interstate. I thought we would have the road to ourselves! So as soon as I got home, I took a little nap.

Jo, I love the new bags you and your girls have! We could have guessed which color you would have chosen. ;) I really like both colors. :thumbsup2 Are the suitcases down yet? (or up, or out, or wherever they have to come from)

Shelly, if those weather forecasts hold, then you couldn't ask for much better! If you ever see a high in Florida in August starting with an "8" then the weather gods are smiling on you! Those afternoon showers are usually quick and welcome. They cool things off and seem to chase away some of the crowds.....embrace them! ;) However, if the forecasts are like the stock market, you are right....they will change 10 times in 2 weeks. :headache: But nothing brewing in the tropics - that's the most important thing!

Isn't it amazing how busy the roads are at that time of the night/morning??? It's always shocking-- and you think "Where are you people going??":lmao:

And no-- the suitcases are still perched precariously in my closet of doom. The kids go back to school on Monday-- and I plan on hitting the packing.
You believe me, don't you??

Okay, so I was surfing around the Disney Store site early and came across something that made me instantly think of Jo.....

Do you think it's the same smell?!?! :lmao::lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Somehow I doubt it is. I'm halfway tempted to try it though.
Guess where I'm headed soon????? I have to go to Target.
Oh the agony.

Good morning! :goodvibes

I can't believe we are going to Disney in TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1:

We just got back from Jack's vet appointment. He weighs 8 pounds now!! Hard to believe he has doubled in size and then some since we got him.

Okay, so here's what has been going on with us. . . Two weeks ago DH was having some problems so he went to the doctor. They ran a bunch of tests thinking it might be his heart, but his heart is fine. Thank goodness. In the end his doctor decided that he had a hernia. So he sent him to a surgeon. Not knowing how serious it was and how long it would be before they could schedule him for surgery we were left thinking we may have to cancel our trip. He went to the surgeon and he told him that he doesn't have a hernia. :faint: Okay, we were happy but still didn't understand what was going on. About the middle of the following week he started having bad pains again. So he called his doctor who then referred him to yet another surgeon. They couldn't get him in until the following week. Which was yesterday. Well he does in-fact have a hernia. :sad2: And now it's too late to operate before vacation. Not enough recovery time. Plus the surgeon is going to be on vacation the next 2 weeks. So he couldn't get him scheduled until the last week of the month - and of course we will be in WDW then. He said it was fine to wait until then. So he is scheduled for the Friday after we get back. He is still working, as long as he can. His only real restriction is that he can't lift anything over 5 pounds. Not sure how we are going to handle all our luggage. And I'm not sure how many rides he is going to be able to take, but then again he's not a thrill rider anyway!

So that's what we've been dealing with here. Good grief. I hope he doesn't have much pain and is able to enjoy this vacation.

Awesome weather forecasts Shelly! :cool1:

Well I just looked and guess what??? It totally changed. :faint: Upper 90's for the week we arrive. :scared1:

Wow I can't believe you're close enough to start checking the forecast!!!

That's me with the Mtn Dew!!

One day soon your kids will be able to carry their own stuff to the parks. It is great!

I hope your son has a great time in San Francisco! :yay:

I am always surprised by the number of cars on the roads that early in the morning too. :confused3 Well the few times a year I am up and going somewhere at that hour in the morning. :rotfl:

Yes, the stupid forecast changed drastically already. :faint: Maybe there's time for it to change back to what it said yesterday!! :wizard:

Thanks Jo!!:banana: Two weeks, can you believe it??? That means 3 weeks until we see each other!! :cool1:

Yep -- there's always a chance of rain down there. On one of our November trips there was rain forcasted for every day and we did not get a single drop all week!

(I totally missed yesterday's countdown. Makes it go by even faster when you miss a day.:lmao:)

Mtn Drew. :lmao:

Does he like Mtn Dew??? I was a good girl when I was pregnant with DS12 and didn't drink much pop. Then when I was pregnant with DS9 I decided it was okay to have a Mtn Dew once a week. So on Fridays at work we would order out for lunch and everyone knew it was my Mtn Dew day!!! And guess who LOVES Mtn Dew? Yep -- DS9!!:rotfl:

And no-- the suitcases are still perched precariously in my closet of doom. The kids go back to school on Monday-- and I plan on hitting the packing.

Have fun at Target!!

Shelly...sorry to hear about your DH!!! Just let your older son help as much as he can with the luggage and tip all the guys at the parking garage to haul it for you...lifting is the WORST thing when you have a hernia!!! It wouldn't be worth it to aggravate it! I am sure he will be able to do most of the stuff at Disney he would normally do....I guess you better bring a big bottle of Ibuprofen or something in case it starts bothering him.
DD woke me up at 7 throwing up this morning...I am exhausted!

Let's talk souvenirs! :goodvibes

Here's some of what we came home with in November ~

So what are we after this time?

Hard to tell!!

We want to get an AK snowglobe to complete our little collection.

Summer-Fall2011005-2.jpg

I think DH is wanting a new shirt and hat. He usually doesn't get too much in way of souvenirs.

I always get a calendar for the next year, but I don't know if they will have them out yet in August....They never used to have them out on my May trips, but have always had them in Oct and Nov. So we'll see on that one...

I'd really like to get Jodi's necklace!!

mmnecklace.jpg

I'm not sure what else I'll get....

The kids will likely get lots of Pokemon stuff in Japan, Lego's from the Lego store, and a bunch of stuff from Once Upon a Toy!!

Oh I can't wait to shop at Disney!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

AWESOME!! I love disney shopping too! If they don't have the cal when you go, I will buy you one when I am there in Nov, okay?! That'll be fun to shop for!!!

Yeah, it's a real bummer. I guess I'm going to have to have DS12 start lifting weights between now and then and get pumped up!

I just hope nothing goes wrong when we are on vacation. That would be terrible to have to have emergency surgery so far from home. :scared:

Thanks Shawna! :goodvibes I'll let you know if I get one or not!

Wow, Shelly, 2 weeks!!!!! Today I'll be one of the first to say..........

:jumping1:

I'm so sorry to hear that your DH will have to have surgery. :sad1: But at least you have answers now, and he's not worrying about what it could be during your trip. Nothing's worse than imagining what might be wrong. And a hernia is something that is fixable with surgery, so it could definitely be worse. Did his doctors give him anything for pain in the meantime, or will Tylenol/Advil be good enough? He should milk this for all it's worth. Porters, bellhops, valets, the whole nine yards. ;) Nothing strenuous for a week! Maybe you could get him an ECV and get to the front of all the lines! Somehow I don't think your DH would go for that. Anyway, I hope he feels great and hardly notices anything during the trip. :thumbsup2 Thank heavens you don't have to cancel!

Yes, my DS is having a wonderful time in San Francisco. He decided after being there for just a couple of hours that he isn't coming home. I asked him how he came to that decision so quickly and he said that the city was beautiful, his cousin's place was awesome, and the weather was fantastic. (I can understand the weather part. He went from upper 90's and humidity to highs in the 60's) He has a tendency to jump into big ideas, though. ;) Not long ago it was Colorado he wanted to move to. Hey, I could have called him Mt. Drew!!

Thanks Teri! :goodvibes

Yes, we are sure glad to have some answers now. The timing just stinks! :headache: We will definitely be getting as much help with our bags as we can. The doctor didn't want him to have a prescription pain meds because he needs to be able to know what is going on and if the pain gets way worse. He said Ibuprofen is fine.

This may be the most boring trip ever between the heat and DH being down and out!!

Jodi's DH already told DH that he would spring for a scooter for him!

I'm glad your DS is having such a great time in CA! I hope he comes home though!!

Yikes Shelly!! I hope everything goes well with DH & his hernia! I'm sure it will all work out OK & at least you still get to go on the trip!

Great souvenir pictures! :thumbsup2

You are getting so close!!! :hyper:

Shelly - I am sorry to hear about your husband and the hernia. I hope your trip still does go smoothly despite him not feeling 100%.

Very cool souvenirs! Nice collection of snow globes.

Happy 14 days! :thumbsup2

Sea :cool1:

Jo -

20 Days your trip is so close, good plan about getting the suitcases out when the kids go back to school.

I find it is all the little details that stress me out before a vacation. I called today to book a reservation for our Bella at the kennel, she is going first class this stay I booked the all-inclusive package.

Shelly - So sorry to hear about DH and his upcoming hernia surgery. My DH had one years ago but I am sure with all the advances in medicine the op now will go smoothly, just make sure he does not overdue it before then.

My DH had his eye surgery yesterday and all is well, he is already talking about having the other one done. He had the cataracts in both eyes but they only do one at a time. :confused3

On a happier note 14 Days!

I am sure the weather will change a lot between now and when you actually leave. I heard something today about a tropical depression for early next week??? The year we went in late August for my DS's :littleangel: birthday,a hurricane had just passed before we arrived, one street in DHS was blocked off as there was something loose on one of the facades due to the storm but that was it.

Souvenirs are such fun to buy. Can not wait to see what new snowglobe you buy this trip.

I am a little bummed , I have read that Disney has all but discontinued items for pets, worried what if anything I will be able to find for Bella.

Hi Shelly and Jodi!:goodvibes
Well, we are back from our quick trip to Cape Cod. It was very nice and we had great weather!
I am all caught up with your PTR!
Shelly- I am so sorry for all that your DH is dealing with.:sad2: Thank goodness it wasn't his heart, but a hernia is a real bummer! Wishing him a speedy recovery!:wizard: On another note- happy 2 weeks! I love all of the pictures of your souvenirs! I love shopping in WDW!:lovestruc
Jo- I hope that everything is going well with you! Bummer that school is starting soon for your kids, but at least you will have more free time to get ready for WDW!
