Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Here's what I've been working on this morning--

A Rules for vacation Contract for the kids to sign!

We did this with them as a Pirate Code once before and it was a lot of fun.

WALT DISNEY WORLD RULES​

~I will ensure that our destination continues to be the Happiest Place on Earth by having fun. In doing so, I will cause no one to be miserable due to my attitude or actions.

~I will be flexible, patient, respectful and willing to compromise. I will not pout, cry, argue or whine when I do not get my way. (___/____/____)

~I will not complain about the heat. We chose September and go into the vacation knowing full well how hot it is going to be. (___/___/___)

~ I promise to: not argue with/ignore/pick on/tattle on my Brother/Sister(s). (___/___/___)

~I will be willing to try new things. Vacations are an adventure!

~I agree to be slathered in sunscreen whenever Mom deems it necessary. Which will be often.

~I will drink plenty of water to stay hydrated-- Not Coke. Water.

~I agree to be quiet and go to sleep once "Lights Out" has been declared for the night.

~I agree to be ready to leave the room when everyone else is ready.

~If there is something I'd like to do again, I will ask nicely. I realize that we may not be able to do it right away, but I agree that we will try our best to do it again before our vacation concludes.

~I will carry a small, disposable rain poncho with me and wear it when Mom says to.

~I agree to be solely responsible for and carry around anything I bring into the parks with me. This also includes taking turns carrying the water misting bottle.

~Stopping every ten minutes for someone to use the bathroom facilities is not an effective use of my vacation time, therefore, when one goes, we all go.

Love the way your boys display their pins, Shelly! DS has all his on his two lanyards hanging in his room. The cork board would free up the lanyards and I wouldn't have to buy him a new one!

We, too, buy pins ahead of time in bulk. Works out great!

111degrees while swimming at the GF pool will feel tons better than 111 standing in the WM parking lot.

I just finished up the dreaded back to school shopping and when I came home DH was speechless at the amount I spent. I was SO close to taking it all back, handing him the list and letting him have a go at it to see if he could do any better. Oh and he'd be taking both kids with him like I did too. Good thing he recognized my death glare before things got ugly.

Morning Teri! I hope your cleaning is successful. I have no desire to clean today. It's gonna be one of those furniture polish on the dining room table days.

Well, 96 or 106, it's still too hot to do anything outside. So I guess today is as good a day as any to stay in and clean! Instead of playing outside in the sprinkler, I'm playing inside with a bucket of water!

You guys are in a cold spell! Yesterday when Mark came home from work at 6 pm his thermometer read 113!!! He took a pic of it b/c he said no one would believe him.

That is unbelievable! My GF's daughter just moved to Little Rock to do an internship for a year. She had been in Kansas for 3 years, and you would think it was much hotter there! Wrong.

My binder--- well it's my WDW bible. I put plans and reservations and everything I need including menu print outs, maps---- whatever I need for vacation. It goes with me every trip. right now it's a mess from the last vacation and I have been procrastinating for MONTHS and haven't cleaned it out yet. I think that's why I feel like I don't have it all together yet.

I think you're way ahead of most people! You and Shelly would have made great travel agents! It's never too late......

I can't believe your DH doesn't like cheese. That makes things very tricky! Mark doesn't like to eat it just for the fat/calorie reason- so he tries to order things without it. At home he eats Fat free cheese and it's nasty. I can't wait to try Via Napoli! We will probably order salads, two large pizzas and an order of spaghetti and share. That's what we always do at pizza places.

I know - that was info he didn't divulge until I was already too smitten to back out. Sometimes I try to sneak a little cheese into a casserole in hopes he doesn't notice. I mean, how can you make a casserole without cheese? I love cheese, but Fat Free? No way. Nasty is right. DH loves pizza, but not if it's "too cheesy". Crazy. Be sure to take lots of pics at VN!

Sooooo- when are you going back so we can hear all about where you're eating??????

Now you've gone and done it. I've made it through the whole PTR without crying, and well, now I'm typing through tears. My DW future is looking pretty DOA. I thought we had a trip with DH's brother and family, but dear BIL doesn't part with his money very easily. I honestly don't think I can ever convince my DH that we would enjoy a trip with just the 2 of us. He really doesn't ride anything, which would be OK with me, but he thinks it would be pointless to go to Disney and not ride much.

Pins - we trade and collect. DD10 is into Tinkerbell, but she's going to branch out next time she says. DD8 wants all princesses. She's got all of them in glitter dresses, now we're working on baby ones.

Shelly - on your DS9's board, next to Kali RR, there's a mickey head. What is that pattern?

Shelly, I love how you have the pins on display in your boys' rooms. I think my kids would have loved pin trading. I don't know if they did that back in the olden days. They had autograph books though! I think my best bet is to just hope for granchildren to do all the new fun stuff with.

You definitley need to steal Jo's WDW contract. Every parent should require their kids to sign one of those before any trip. And if your boys moan and groan about it, just tell them that the JoBird kids think it's awesome! (That psychology always worked with my kids )

OK, back to cleaning. My DH can't understand why it takes me so long to clean house. I just tell him I'm so thorough that it takes all day.

I'm so sorry I made you cry. I hope that you will be able to go very soon. It's a fun trip with no kids-- it's just different! oooh! I know!! Next yr LSU must be coming to the Swamp- you know you want to experience that. Plan to go to the game and then once that's planned, say to DH--- hey, maybe we could stay for a few days after to go to WDW!!!! It works.



As far as the Tebow thing--
It all comes down to this: Orton looks good at practice/chokes when pressure is on.
Tebow has never looked great in practice-- because it is a scripted play. He isn't that guy. He performs well under the pressure of the game. Adrenaline is what fuels him. This quote from him--- Tebow also responded to the criticism, but kept his words short, tweeting, "Hey Merril...... 'ppreciate that." should have people scared.

I think actually we will be doing better going to FL now having all summer to get used to the heat versus going down in May when we've been so cold all winter and the heat is awful.
That's what I keep telling myself anyway.

They didn't think it was awesome last time their fannies were having to sign it. I think I'm going to add to it that every time they whine they'll owe me
$.50. That should add up over the course of 9 days to a hefty sum.

Good Morning!!!!
I am starting to get that panicky feeling I always get before the trip. Like I haven't done enough to prepare. Which, yeah I probably haven't. I think today I will work on my binder. It is a disaster of gigantic proportions and is in desperate need of maintenence.

Oh and I guess I should order the park tickets, might need those.I am getting them thru Undercover Tourist this time ---- saving $75! Which I guess in the grand scheme of how much I've spent, it's dumb. But I have to try to save a little somewhere, right???



If I want Mark to think I've cleaned all day all I have to do is throw some furniture polish on the dining room table. He walks in, smells it and says wow, the house feels clean. I used to work with a woman who said if she wanted her husband to get romantic she'd clean the toilet with clorox.

I like the furniture polish idea, I have been known to use Fabreez. When I was a stay at home Mom, it always seemed I was running the vacuum when DH would walk thru the door, and he would acuse me of trying to look like I had been cleaning all day. I actually did it later so the toys were picked up and he could actually walk across the room, so I stopped , I rather enjoyed watching he trip across the room trying to avoid the 100 or so odd hotwheels that were everywhere. He soon stopped saying anything when he walked in and I was vacuuming

I'm beginning to think we live at the gates of that awful place. We're actually in Arkansas. And it's been over 100 everyday for a month now. It's getting old. I don't mind weather in the 90's- over 100 is just plain miserable.

Mental note never move to Arkansas...as much as I hate the ice and snow of winter I do not care to be baked alive either


Oh boy I know that too well. The pools just can't keep cool at all. My kids have opted for the hose and sprinklers. They have cold water at least. It's usually never this hot here for this long of a time. It's usually hot for a few days and then goes down to in the mid 90's. Not this year. The day we moved into this house 3 years ago it was 106. I thought I was going to die of heat stroke.

I just made parking reservations near the airport!!!!!!!!!!

I was just telling DH today that I have to book the airport hotel and put in a reservation for Bella at the kennel.

Jo..I would beleive the heat...it is still around 112 with the heat index here...and I think up around Dallas it's quite a bit hotter, so it would be just as hot for you I guess. Show us your binder!!
